i'm talking about things that are supposed to be everyday things that happen in our real life, but in movies, they always do something to make them fake and not realistic.

the two that irk me are whenever you see a terminal or text on a pc scrolling in a movie, they always have some kind of sound going with it. text scrolling makes a sound. in general they have sounds for ANYTHING happening on a computer screen in movies.

the other is when people are on the phone and hang up. no one ever says bye they always just hang up. buncha assholes.

When the good guy is being shot at, and everyone misses. But when he shoots, he gets all his targets in one shot.

Cars that explode from the simplist accident, or cars that magically grow a new hub cap or side view mirror after the prior scene you plainly see the hub cap or side view mirror flying off the car. Also virtually all scenes filmed from the front of the car has the rear view mirror missing. That is not realistic. Also, quite often during a chase scene, you will hear the sounds of a 5 speed manual transmission, but the car will have an automatic transmission. Yes, I'm a car nut.

What about the ridiculously intricate graphics and animations on computer systems when a "hacker" is running shit from a command line?

Karate chop to the neck = chloroform

1 bullet = instant kill

Person gets shot, no blood

and the ubiquitous ZOOM ENHANCE!

Aliens from another planet look and talk like humans. Or humans with some goofy ass brain defect that causes them to act semi robotic.

haha never even noticed the rear view mirror thing. i'm going to start paying attention for that.

as far as the transmission thing goes you reminded me of another one.

in movies when they are driving manual and shift gears, there is always a loud CLICK noise. the worst offender was in fast and furious, and it also seemed like they were switching gears 50x in a 90 second quarter mile. that pissed me off too.

this may not exactly fit the op,
last night watching some western that supposedly took place in texas,
in the backgrounds were saguaro cactus, i've been to texas and never saw a live saguaro, they only grow in the sonoran desert, which is arizona and old mexico.

This. So so much.

It's to the point, as a child, I thought to myself, why do they make helicopters so fragile? 1 bullet = always hit the gas tank

The single most annoying thing to me is the "clicking" noise made when someone holds up a gun. Scenes where someone is suddenly surrounded by multiple people pulling guns on them, and you hear a chorus of clicking sounds as they all point their guns at once...those scenes make me want to punch my TV.

Yes, guns make clicking sounds, but only when you engage the slide (a two hand process), or draw the hammer back. But no one is ever doing that when those sound effects are being used.

I've even seen movies where the shooter draws his gun, the clicking sound is made, then the shooter slowly lowers his gun during the scene only to suddenly point it at the same person again and have the clicking sound. GRRRRRR

I get that it's for effect, but damn, it drives me nuts.

Basically every computer program/terminal/task ever shown in movies. There are very few exceptions to this.

When people are obviously NOT actually driving a car or motorcycle. I'm almost certain that in acting school there is an actual lesson entitled "How to move the steering wheel back and forth to attempt to give the illusion that you're actually steering."

It always bothers me that when a helicopter is going to crash, going down, you see a hill and the helicopter going down behind the hill. You don't actually see the helicopter crash, but just an explosion. Yes, helicopters are very expensive to be crashing. Mush easier to give the illusion of a crash with an explosion.

The meaningless 3d graphics that represent some sort of hacking attempt. (as in Swordfish)

When you can read the text on the face of the computer user - basically the actor is staring into a projector.
