Fake Weed, Real Drug: K2 (and I don't mean the mountain)

never seen it. but heard about it on the news. and yes they are trying to outlaw it


and im the same as tallbill i don't do pot because its against the law. though i do think it should be legal. If it was not for the fact i get tested for drugs (thanks to the pain clinic) i would do it.

From a few that i have talked to with the same things (rheumatoid arthritis and fibromylasia) pot has helped them in the pain.

Sounds like since they used so many of the same substances as MJ though it would most likely trigger a drug test. Not positive because I haven't looked into it, but curious.

Spice products (Pep spice, K2, etc) contain natural herbs and such, but use a synthetic cannabinoid on them that won't show up on tests (confirmed by many, many people). It gets you high in an extremely similar way, though it tends to not last as long as MJ (despite being more potent).

I don't see teh harm other than maybe QA. WHich if they make it illegal, will definitely cause more harm than good.

that said, these 'herbal blends' are NOT pleasant to smoke and your tolerance to JWH builds FAST, which arguably does make it more dangerous than pot.

I find the "spice" products to vary in how pleasant they are to smoke. Usually, though, they tend to burn hotter and taste worse. However, MJ to me is more harsh and just makes my throat/lungs feel bad in general, more coughing, etc.

7 Air Force airmen discharged for 'Spice' use

Seven airmen at Utah's Hill Air Force Base have been discharged for using spice, an incense that has effects similar to marijuana. Base officers say cases against 11 other airmen accused of using spice are being processed, and a discharge likely will prevent the airmen from joining the military again.
While spice is legally sold in smoke shops, U.S. military members are forbidden from using it because it alters one's mental state when smoked.
"We're going to be vigilant about rooting (users) out," said Col. Patrick Higby, commander of the base's 75th Air Base Wing.
Higby said he's concerned about anything that will impact the Air Force's mission.
"We don't want those individuals to be in any altered mental state," he told the Deseret News. "It's that teamwork thing: A team is only as strong as the weakest link."
A similar ban also is in the works for civilian employees of the base, said Capt. Graham Bernstein, assistant judge staff advocate in the base's legal office.
He said the seven airmen received general or less-than-honorable discharges, which signify some wrongdoing has occurred, but not at a criminal level.
"In the Air Force, we don't take back people who have been discharged for drug use," Bernstein said.
Air Force commanders are authorized to inspect airmen's dorm rooms, but they rely on other airmen to follow the base's "honor code" and to turn in those suspected of using mind-altering drugs.

Its been a looooong time since I sampled pot and my throat/mouth burned waaaaaay worse than stuff. The cotton mouth the next day isn't nearly as bad either. That being said, it's still kinda harsh. If I decide to keep smoking it, I need to get a water pipe.

good bud tastes wonderful. any of these 'blends' are going to taste like a brush fire, because that's pretty much what you're burning.

this stuff is also not well (if at all) researched, and could have long term health effects from the chemical itself, not to mention whatever crap they're spraying it on.

In the "omg drugs are bad!!!!" camp, narcotic basically covers everything.

However, I definitely see the true definition you are referring to, and understand the difference. Just... in terms of working for the government, drugs are bad, and illegal is illegal and also instant disqualification for some career fields.
Border Patrol? One of the notorious Federal departments where any drug use, just about ever, basically instant disqualifies an applicant. They are rough.

Marijuana is something a lot of people would love to do, but in the drive to work for the government in some department and career field, it is basically impossible with the stiff anti-drug measures. If you need a security clearance of any level, drugs are definitely a topic of discussion, though polygraph tests might not be required for a clearance like Secret. But all the forms definitely want details, and getting caught lying basically means no more shot at a job anywhere at the government level.
