He's honestly the perfect spy, especially when you think about the whole plane situation. Keep this in mind:
1) He was in on the attack on the nuclear power plant, so he knew the plans.
2) He had an airplane - knowing full well that he'd be shot down pretty fast. He had to have a guarantee that he'd be safe in that thing.
3) He knew the coordinates, because he insisted on going.
4) He's always shown an immense hatred for skitters - so he'd be the least likely person of the bunch. But he only cares about himself, and his survival. If he gets away while everyone else dies, he doesn't care.
Just a thought since we don't know much about the adviser chick.
about finding the location of Keystone - I thought that the chick they captured was only telling them the location once they were in the air?
They told him it was a weapon to be used to destroy the fishhead buildings that were preventing their ships from landing.
Tom really went out of character after Pope threw the snake on him. He seemed to empathize with Pope when he told the story about the last time he saw his kid, but then the next morning he was all hostile.
so many cliches in that episode as well.
Sometimes I wonder if the writers could have spiced things up for us, for example:
- Having a real sniper (not that weird girly looking actor with a pony tail) to take out Hal in the window for good, when he had his Dad held hostage to save me the agony of watching the pretty boy doing a shitty acting job; or
If I recall he is a real sniper and was in the marines as they talked about it in a previous season.
That's also Henry from Sanctuary. I think I like him better in Sanctuary though.
kinda odd that it was only mason boys riding out at the end. wonder what the reason was.
Starting to wish SOMETHING or ANYTHING would happen in this show.
They're slowly building up to it.
No, heroes got screwed by the writers strike when they had o suddenly condense the season arc, then deal with those consequences in the next and final season.
And for the guy who wanted more tension about pope, did you miss the bar scene. Weaver comes in and the place goes dead silent. He orders a drink and the guy doesn't take his money. Then pope comes over and gets the pep talk and you can feel his sphincter making a hermetic seal. Even when pope was trying to give the kid a hard time at the end you could feel that the earlier meeting was still a factor to him.
techs, you mean Hal's disappearances at night (dating that alien girlfriend of his) and mud on his shoes when he was in a wheel chair? I guess he either had a multiple personality disorder or he was under alien chick's spell
Overall, the Season 2 is slow progressing as the first one, Spielberg is doing a great job milking the episodes. Every time I watch this show I want more action, more alien technologies and possibilities of using it. Flying mosquitoes as mind controlling bugs?
Sometimes I wonder if the writers could have spiced things up for us, for example:
- Having a real sniper (not that weird girly looking actor with a pony tail) to take out Hal in the window for good, when he had his Dad held hostage to save me the agony of watching the pretty boy doing a shitty acting job; or
- Hal killing one of his brothers, preferably the youngest one in that building top floor, when he was 'possessed'. Now we are talking about the turn of the events! He wakes up after the bug removal surgery, and now he faces the ugly truth. It is amazing how fast people have forgotten all their fallen friends who Hal had betrayed. Of course, it is not his fault and his girlfriend who believed in him till the end; or
- Court marshaling/executing Pope for disobeying the orders. Heck, it is a war of the worlds, and if there is a prick who constantly wines and bitches, he will be the first one to walk the plank. I don't know about you guys, but I have had enough of Pope. He is surely a key character in the series from day one, but come one! He is more annoying that Noah Wiley's youngest kid ; or
- The aliens' ships are in orbit, but they can't use 'nuke from orbit' tactics? What is it? World War I? Where are the orbit cannon lasers? Let all humans hide in the catacombs, caves or subway systems like Metro 2033 Aliens don't have infrared devices to track humans hiding in the woods? They have transformer robots though! Humans can march on the road with their vehicle engines covered with blankets to hide the infrared signatures (season 1).
Disclaimer: I like the show enough to wait to see who it ends. It there is going to be a cliff hanger, I won't watch Season 3 although the initial idea was great, but it was loosely materialized. I'd rather switch over to the "Crossing Lines". A group of handsome/beautiful detectives do their best to solve serial killer crimes in Europe...
Another ho-hum episode. We get the good Hal back. Too bad they didn't kill him.
He was prior to the invasion.
