With weapons like the gun they gave to our ragged band of freedom fighters, aren't the Volm overwhelmingly superior to the Espheni?

If they are, how long will it take for them to wipe them out?

If not, why wouldn't they welcome our help?

Remember they introduced the new mechs and were told they generally don't use such advanced methods against primitive races so they probably have a lot of nasty stuff for the bubble heads they never used on the humans as at best humanity was only ever a nuisance to them.

Odd an interesting episode.

As far as the tech, you need to remember that the initial aliens are most not actually of the same breed as the controlling faction. Along with he previously described secrecy the overlords have for each other, they only dole out enough knowledge/material as is currently needed.

The volm are all members of the same species and all fighting, so there is no need for them to not all have maximum capability equipment in their use.

Assuming with the doc cover being blown, whomever controlled the bugs (karen?) Didn't stay close enough or focus enough effort to exert full control over her so her natural self was conscious, and looking rather raged.

Tom putting on into karen at the end was a bit of a twist, wasn't sure if it was a plan to try and capture her wounded, but blonde ended that thought and rather roughly. Her and hal will be a twist to see developed over the intervening time.

Then as the time is about up, was wondering what the cliffhanger would be, the key playing alien magic was a rather different way to go. Figure by the time we see her next she'll be at least effectively into her late teens.

Another thing to look for in the future will be further development of the volm angle, this looks like just a military detachment operating under some type of political guidance. Will more factions of the volm arrive to further complicate the situation, or will it just be the military we see know and then somehow learn to adjust.

Kinda reminds me of a show called "The 4400" where they do something similar with a baby.

I just wonder how evil she becomes.

It depends what alien dna she has.

If it's the skitters / fish heads then she will be evil otherwise if it's the bubbleheads then she will be good.
