Fallout 4 is really coming

I am always skeptical of Bethesda because many times their game is broken and mods fix it. If they want to start playing that game on console now because they support mods...I dunno.

I wonder how that will work, like how mods will be distributed etc. if they go to a pay model I won't buy the game.

If it goes to a pay model then it's not a mod, it's technically DLC

Well, I don't think that's the case. I'm guessing mod support is a result of Windows 10's super-cooperative code based across platforms. By that, I'm GUESSING (well, more hypothesizing) that the PS4 won't get mod support, and so they'll still need to work on polishing their games up, for that reason alone.

Mods should expand upon games, not fix them.

They tried to monetize mods before and it backfired big time for Valve and Bethesda.

I could see a difference between them even with the crappy YouTube video I watched. Fallout never has been a amazing looking game tho

Well, I can confirm that mods will have to be created on PC. You can transfer them to the xbox one for free.

Yes I just finished watching the Xbox E3 presentation replay and they said it was free. PC mods can be transferred.

Indeed, and that's why I am thinking it's a Windows 10 feature. If they were going cross-platform, it'd probably mean a cross-platform editor, like DOOM is getting.

I think that's pretty safe. You could always wait and see but I wouldn't hold my breath for PS4 support. Bethesda was never kind to Sony in the past, look at how long they took to release Skyrim DLC on the PS3. I think MS gives them some money though for these "favors". There is probably a reason they can do it on XB1 though. Probably because of windows. It's probably pretty easy to write a utility that can recognize the files and load them up.

Howard confirmed that being able to play mods on the Xbox One would come later after launch and also revealed that the team hoped to bring it to the PS4 eventually.

"That feature is not coming out at launch," Howard confirmed.

"The Xbox One part of that will come out after that and then we do hope to put it on PS4."

The graphics are fine. They aren't going to do 3D hair for the dog when it's like the only dog in the game. Get over it, it's not a big deal. It doesn't wow you because Bethesda isn't oversaturating with all this post process that's great for screenshots but look horrible in-game. Also it's not the same engine.

That's what I've been saying all along. Fallout is more about the experience then the graphics. The game doesn't look like shit and for some reason people expected the game to look amazing.

I think the game does look amazing. People are quick to forget just how much more demanding Bethesda games are. I can't think of another game that has as complicated of AI. That doesn't just get processed for free.

I think the game looks good and it's a big improvement over fallout 3 on console for sure.
Hopefully they do bundle fallout 3 with it so we can compare the two easily. I do wonder if FO3 is a remaster/higher res version or if it's the same as before
