I think it's kind of like this by default because you have to explore. Almost reminds me of bloodborne in a way because you need to figure out where to go and how to go about doing it.Does this game have a really slow burn or something? level 7 and bored out of my mind.

What level should I be to go to diamond city? I have a ton of .38 ammo and all crappy guns. I've only got settlers at the sanctuary. Not sure if I'm playing this game right lol.
If I found Fallout 3 boring, would I enjoy 4? I never tried New Vegas because of how bored I was with 3..
I guess I'll do one more of Preston's settler quests and wander around before heading there. I'm level 6.5 now I think.I was like level 8 or so I think, I didn't have many issues getting there.
EDIT:
Also like half my health bar was taken up by Rads. I refused to use a Rad-away because they sell for so much, and I read for 40caps you can heal them when you get there. Paid off!

you what?
how can you not be completely swamped by radaways; are you playing a different release than me?
i had so many that i had to sell them, and used 5~6 radaway and 2 doctor visits in the entire run.
sometimes i think people just troll or BS trying to make fallout seem harder than it is, just out of fanboyism. F4 gives you so much crap that you have no place to store it, merchants run out of money buying your stuff, and if ammo had weight, you would need a separate character just to carry it.
F4 > FNV > F3 without a doubt, but please, don't tell me you are actually having a hard time playing it. it still has the same CareBear difficulty level as the previous two games.
Please highlight what I said that made you think I had a hard time getting there? If anything I pointed out that I got there without using a Radaway even though I had half my life consumed by Rads...
Looks like I have a lot to do. I don't even know how to use perks or craft anything other than modifying my weapons. I didn't really play much of the other games so that's why. Sometimes I die and I feel like I gotta be playing this wrong. You said you didn't want to use radaway because it costs too much, but what he is saying is the game literally floods you with them from every place you scavenge and even if you don't use them often it's no big deal since the game isn't all that difficult.
My character is around lv46 and immune to radiation from water, food etc. immune to alcohol and chem addiction, can reflect enemy fire back to instantly kill them at random, can heal by consuming raw flesh, and gets healed by the sunlight. The game is a joke in terms of difficulty, but I made it so by using those perks. I thought to myself I wanted to play as a character that can survive well and didn't put much into combat (which turns out didn't matter that much), made the game feel too easy.

honestly, if you play F4 and you do not feel the need to complain about its exceptionally low skill ceiling .. i think you are the one with the problem.
(i managed to give myself a bit of a challenge by rushing high level areas at low level .. and by not looking into my inventory too much. too easy otherwise)
ofc all this w/o using grenades.
Forza 6, and that's all dependent on how good you are at driving with a controller and how much you want to suffer.

IDK if I can be disappointed in the difficulty (I haven't played much yet, but it does seem pretty easy). Most of these shooters are easy as heck. Halo 5 was a joke, even on Legendary, same for Halo 4. CoD campaigns haven't been hard since they took out infinitely spawning enemies after CoD 4. Heck, even some of the bigger-name non-shooters I've played were really easy, like Sunset Overdrive and Shadow of Mordor. Watch Dogs was a cakewalk. The only game I liked that offered any challenge was Dying Light, and that was really only at the very end.
So, repeating myself leads to this question: Which games coming out in the AAA world recently are legitimately difficult? The only answer from the games I've played is Forza 6, and that's all dependent on how good you are at driving with a controller and how much you want to suffer.
You're the problem by trying to push your agenda onto other people instead of letting them make their own choices. I don't try to tell you to complain or not complain, don't try to tell me to do it.
I play racing games with a controller and I think I'm pretty good (Forza, Project CARS, rFactor, iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Test Drive Unlimited, GTR2, Race 07, Dirt 2/3/Showdown/Rally), mind you I have all assists turned off as well. I used to have a G25 and it broke and haven't bothered to get a new one, I'm probably going to try and get a Thrustmaster T100 or T300 eventually and get that ChorusMAX adapter and use it on the XB1 once they fix the 0-100% throttle/brake issues.
I'm level 8 (almost 9) and already at combat zone and having a tough time with some mobs, trying to figure out flanking strategies to take them out one at a time... nope not getting bored yet.
Very few games are truly hard. The ones that are really only seem that way because of cheap mechanics to force you to die a few times.
I'm surprised I finished evil within. It was a tough one. As for dying light I still gotta get through that. The strategy guide has been helping me out in fallout.
I just wish you could store all your junk and items in one central place. At the truck stop I tried to make a mod for my weapons and it said I didn't have the parts. The parts were all at the sanctuary. I still don't have good weapons, except for the short laser rifle that I got to 3 cranks so far.
On the ps4 at least it seems wherever you store stuff that's where it stays.I thought all the workshop "storage" was universal to the workshops?
