Is there any way to check the level of companion approval?

For example, I just had an interaction with Codsworth where he approached me to talk about how much he missed me and how he's part of the family etc. etc., but after that I still don't have his Robot Sympathy perk.

I assume this means he's still not at max approval, but I'd like to know how close I am.

Do you go through ammo too quickly that way?

Maybe when you're low level and haven't explored much yet. I am a hoarder and have looted every dungeon north of the river from the west to the sea. Sold most of my loot for more ammo. All my guns use different ammo types, and I haven't used an energy weapon for something like over a dozen levels so have accumulated a lot.

On another note, I miss karma.

And what are these 7 murders I have under my stats? I'm almost sure I haven't murdered any innocents yet. I've even stupidly walked up to Raiders just to be sure they were hostile and let them shoot first.

There is a reason most people are glad it was removed.

The system was stupid as unless you had witnesses it made no sense for the gameplay and storyline issues it could cause.

All the loot belongs to those who are good enough to steal while not getting caught.

WTF I think I've been ripped off. Purchased Home Plate for 2K caps, but you cant send your companions there! And it looks like I cant have my own weapons, armor, etc, benches. I'm tempted to load a save an hour or two back just to get my caps back.

As much flak as I gave this game when it first came out I was wrong, its a great game. I just wish it would have improved a bit more than it did over the old fallout engine

Yep. It pretty useless as such. Its because it doesn't count as a real settlement. But its a semi odd place. Because its somewhere between the non workshop homes and the settlements.

For those in lack of ammo or thinking automatic guns. Get the ammo perks under the luck line.

I am level 48, my nephew level 47. While I didn't take the ammo perk and he did. The result is I sometimes have to buy ammo for my semi automatic weapons. While he drowns in ammo and can use automatic if he wishes.

Its easier to take the barter perks and just buy whatever ammo you need. Sell off the stuff you dont need. This is even more important if you decide to put up multiple weapon shops in your home settlement.

Also, theres mods to add ammo crafting in the game, which is probably the easiest solution.

I have over 1000 38, 45, and fuel cells but less than 500 10mm.
So is sniping weird or am i missing something (no pun intended). Sniping out of vats and ill try to go for headshots and its like i completely miss, more so at longer ranges but even at short ranges. Cross hair is right on their head and it misses. Happens with torso shots even. Vats is mostly useless for sniping and slight less worse for pistols. I have 8 perception right now and unless i am really close its next to worthless.

I haven't noticed a particularly high percentage of misses. I assume you're holding left-alt to hold your breath?

Yep, holding alt to steady the scope. Now i am using a 50 cal pistol with best scope, silenced, and best handgun grip. The range is much higher than any rifle and accuracy is only a few points less than a max modded rifle.

Sniping with the bolt actions actually feels pretty good. Just be sure to steady yourself first. Its not uncommon for me to take out like 4 super mutants in 10 sec all with headshots.

I have 2 settlements that will not improve their "happiness" above 68 = Abernathy Farm and Green Garden. I think it was better before I got them power and a signal, better defenses, etc. Now it is just stuck at 67-68. Both have 2x to 3x the amount of food per settler, 1x water and over 1x in beds that are inside the homes or in housing I built. Defense are over 100 in each. Both have 2 or 3 sales stands ( medic, general trader, etc). I have plastered the walls with pics and have carpets on the floor. I have rung the bell to gather settlers at each place a few times and have asked the store owners if they need anything. Pretty frustrating.

Also I saw one of my NPC provisioner's ( trade route guys) get killed by those giant mosquitoes - the 2 headed cow ran away. However, all my trade routes are still in place when I look on the map - how do I know which one needs to be replaced? or does the game just regenerate my provisioner? Really, Bethesda should have figured this settlement/trade route stuff out better.

I have been sent several times on missions to the same areas for raiders bothering my settlements= especially to the quarry.

The University area was fun- great area to explore.

Ended up going back 2 hours to get my caps back, which kinda worked out, because I could redo the Human Error mission.

Found a way to kill the synth and not kill Honest Dan. First time around I killed the Doctor. I was going to leave the town alone but forgot and fast traveled to it to do a mission close to it and killed half the town. This time I played with it a bit and by leaving Dan at Covenant and doing the mission solo, everyone is alive. Probably have to deal with Stockton later, but since I havent met him yet screw him!

35hrs in and its getting rather dull to be honest. Level 36 or so. Focusing on the main quest now which is surprisingly decent - going into someone's head and rifling through their memories in one quest is surprisingly well done. Doubt I'll be replaying this. Completely ignoring settlements and the Minutemen. Too much effort. Railroad is meh too. Should have aimed for the Lone Wanderer perk earlier.

It is a good game, but there are some things that are really lacking in it. Once I finished it I wanted to try some more Fallout and have been playing FNV again. The differences are really obvious in where FO4 could be improved and what it's missing.

The amount of story and available quests are much higher in FNV than FO4. FO4 is mostly just exploration and tons of collecting with a little bit of sidequests thrown in and the main storyline. FNV has a lot more questing, but not as many areas to explore. The thing with FO4 is most of the game is just going into random buildings and looting stuff, with no story or quests attached to it. The main storyline is pretty short and there are not many sidequests.

It was a great game, but I think FNV is better. The graphics are not even that much different between FO4 and modded FNV, apart from the lighting, which is much better in FO4.

I'm thinking Connie Abernathy is having an affair with the Raiders. She spends more time with the Raiders than her husband.

Good choice!

I wish the "feeding the troops" got fixed so I could offload some settlements.

I keep trying to take on raider and super mutant camps without power armor... so much food consumed to get through!

No excuse... I've found dozens of power thingies for the suit... just keep forgetting to run back home to get it!

Hmm, this is disappointing.

The Jamaica Plains settlement turned out to be much smaller than I thought. Was hoping to make it my new home base.

Looks like I will just go ahead and start building at the drive in theater instead. Its a good spot. Loads of open ground. I plan to make an apartment complex there. Maybe give a whole floor to my power armor.
