Falsely Worded Article To Gain Views

I've ran into yet another article from a very popular website with a false title but correct information. In this case, it goes to Gamespot at the following link:

Now when I read that I immediately thought it was, ya know, 10 games for $20. Meaning, you get all 10 games for $20 because that's what the title says. Otherwise the title should have said "10 Games for $10 Each" but they want that view count so instead they make an immoral decision to word the title incorrectly or at the very least very skeptically.

This doesn't bother me in this particular article and generally it doesn't bother me personally pertaining the information giving. What does bother me is the amount of views this article is going to get because of the falsely worded title which sits at the top of Google when you type in "$10 games on Playstation". Where as IGN is below the ranking but with the correct terminology. That can be seen here:

Thoughts on this? I don't want a trend to start, especially with the big guys. Smaller reviewers/reporters would be devastated by pulling something like this.

If it's done for profit and it's a popular company it falls under the heading of "just business".

I read that today and had the same misconception. Gamespot has basically gone straight to pot. I noticed it around late last year when the articles seemed to be getting significantly more opinionated and biased. But now they've slashed tons of staff in the past couple of week, many of their best. The nixed the transgendered chick and kept the cute poster child chick they plaster atop every page they can, even though the former was actually probably the best writer on the web site. Everything good in general about Gamespot seems to be slipping away.

Articles are also tailored for shorter attention spans, which you all probably have.

I subscribe to the NTY and read like, real length articles. So meh. Carry on with your addled brains that can't read more than 2 freaking pages. I suppose not though, because the article also repeats itself because of presumed short attention span.

You can learn more about starbucks from a 10 year old article than you can a modern day article. You should actually read it, as I already have. It will give you insight into how it operates even to this day.

Not uncommon unfortunately. Almost everything is about the money these days. Have to read the fine print on everything.
