Half the fun of this is the surprise from my family, friends and employees that the recipe came from a geek source. My wife is still laughing that we all are making such a big deal over bread, as if it's the greatest thing since .... well... sliced bread.

but hey... it's good.

Ah yes the good ole TR4000, I got in on that as well and it is what I used. This recipe works like a dream with the machine. I have a pic of the freshly sliced product in a post up above.

A little tip:
Have the machine make the bread and finish just before you go to bed. Once its done turn the machine off, DO NOT keep it on "Keep Warm" mode. Leave the bread in the machine over night. This really softens up the sides of the loaf. If you leave the breadmaker on hte keep warm setting the sides become extremely hard.

EDIT: Pic of the finished loaf, man it was good. Makes fantastic toast too!

Typical leecher...

Try posting some hot deals yourself instead of bitching about the ones you don't like.

I printed it out for my wife to try our breadmaker. The family agrees it makes good toasting bread but just by adding brown sugar to recipe makes it too sweet for our tastes. Here are some links to other free recipes:

While you're at it, why don't you ruin another of my favorite forums. Post your stupid off-topic bread recipe at http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/ ... you'll see how fast it gets deleted from the photography forums. It would be Off-topic there, it's off-topic here, the only difference is no one seems to moderate this forum.

I disagree. This is a Hot Deal for alot of people. And if you stick around long enough you will see this is one of the best moderated forums around.

Edit: Is Moderated a word, It's pretty late here. <(º¿º)>

JFKJr you and your 20 posts. Hmm lets see what kinda posts they are.

Lets see, I see one post for free itunes where you didn't read the OP and asked questions which were already answered.

One where you crap on a deal for a cheap mountain bike. Of course its cheap, you get what you pay for. Its not meant for extreme sports.

Another post (in a fast food hot deal) calling Americans fat pigs and whining about health care costs for taking care of fat people, and implying that most heart related health costs are from fat people. Sure we as a country could use some better eating habits, but I hardly think thats the best way to go about it, by calling people pigs. And there's lots of ways to reduce health care costs, I'm betting reducing fraud would be a lot more cost effective.

Name calling is a sign of a good post isn't it? Must be, I see it in other threads in posts by you.

Yeah you've surely contributed a lot to this forum. And your hot deals you've posted (zero from what I can see in the search) have surely added to our community.

I see lots of people saying this is good, and only a few people who are objecting to the posting. Namely you. Sure I dont want the forum filled up with recipies, but I dont think one, at christmas, thats been customized by a good AT community member, is going to hurt.

Ironically, by bumping this thread with your reply, you are only helping to ensure that it remains near the top and probably keeps appearing in your RSS feed lol.

Oh and you double posted in this thread a 3 minutes apart rather than editing and adding to your previous post. That just makes it stay near the top even MORE lol. Reply to this thread every 3 mins and you will garuntee it stays at the top of the forum.

Let's move on.
Bread is good stuff! I haven't tried this particular recipie, but it looks good At one point my family had a breakmaker (and even a vitamix to grind the grain) but its fallen into disuse. I'll have to see if I can dig it up if we still have it.

Thanks for the recipe; I've made it several times now, and it came out reat. Sadly, my step-son turns his nose up at anything with whole wheat in it...so I'm looking for the perfect white bread recipe now (any suggestions?).
Sorry I missed the Woot deal on the bread machine, it would be a great upgrade from my 10 year old model. I will have to keep my eyes open for another deal like that.
Lastly, what is everyone using to slice it? I would like a guide, rather than doing it free-hand!

My first attempt came out very dense and heavy. What did I do wrong?

Gotta start those kids early on wheat bread instead of white I used to like white only when I was younger, we started having wheat now and then (our family had started going on a health food thing, part of a co-op etc) and I grew into it. Now our family only eats wheat, and its the only kind I like. Maybe try half and half for a bit?
Edit: just for clarification I mean like 1 piece of white on top and a piece of wheat on bottom

A damn poor imitation of JFKjr.
"Let the little dogs bark", gets them every time. They just tear at the rags and get nowhere.

EC,
I can't help but notice that you know how to play, Crack The Whip.

Back on topic, I know of no good white bread recipes.
Edited for comment on Devistater's half & half suggestion...sounds reasonable to me. You should try it.
