Fan Doesn't Spin on the DS3

I purchased a P965-DS3 rev 3.3 with F10 and installed it today and it seemed to work really well until I attempted to install my sound card. After that when I tried to boot up the power supply would turn on, lights would turn on, the fan would not spin however, then it rebooted into this same sequence over and over. Everytime it started over the fan would spin for a brief second. It is not the power supply or the fan because I have tried different power supplies and fans. I even tried a different case just in case it was the power switch or something but it still wouldn't work. Any suggestions on what may be wrong or does it look like its an RMA? I had the auto control feature at disable to allow the fan to run at full speed all the time.

The fan does not start instantly. For some reason they delay the start of the fan until the temp reaches some ? temp. Are you letting it stay on for 1~15 seconds to see if the fan starts? MSI has done this delayed start with some of their boards. Stupid if you ask me.

My fan starts in about 10 seconds regardless of the Fan settings. Always makes me nervous even thought the C2D would only throttle anyway and not hurt anything.

MSI boards would spin the fan for a few seconds then stop and wait for 10~15 seconds before starting the fan again. Really strange. I did a new build and as always watched to see if the CPU fan was running on first startup. Saw it start then quit and turned the thing off.
Checked everything, and saw the same behaviour several times. Thought the board must be bad and exchanged it. The same thing happened. Called MSI and was told "that's normal, it's supposed to do that" I asked why and he didin't know. Asked why it didn't mention it the MB manual and he didn't know. Now GB seems to be doing it also.....ARGGGGGG Anyone know why?

Yep i had the same problem...at least i thought it was a problem. Factory default is the fan doesn't stay on unless you go into the BIO and turn it on. That's all you need to do.

Don't Quote me on this but i think its because it only kicks on when the temps starts to raise and then when it lowers down it will turn off again. I hated this that's why i turned my on in the BIO.. That's all you need to do..

I had that issue, I just plugged my HSF directly into a power line, instead of motherboard controlled. It runs full-speed all the time, no questions asked.
