Hey
my trusty IBM T42 laptop kicked the can recently. Upon boot-up it says "fan error".
I already googled and found that this is a common problem on these laptops and replacing the fan should do the trick.
The fan model# is 13R2657. I searched on eBay and google for stores that sell it.
All I can find are refurbished or used parts with little to no warranty. Since this is a common problem, wouldn't it be safe to assume used fans of this model would fail as well?
Are there replacement non-OEM heatsinks/fan that would fit instead?
Thanks
