Fan speeds on GTX295

Does anyone use Riva Tuner
to set fan profiles to load up a specific fan speed as the card heats up with their GTX295?

If so, would you mind posting the settings you use? For example do you have it run 40% at 30-50c then 55-65c run 50%?

I'd like some suggestions so I can add fan profiles for my GTX295. Right now I have it run 40% at 30-60c and anything above that is 70% which seems ok, but I'd appreciate some suggestions and maybe a list of the settings you use for your card.

Hey, I've put a bit of thought into this one, I ended up letting the card run a bit hotter and quieter than I expected initially.

35% at startup
40% @ 60
50% @ 65
75% @ 88
100% @ 90

Then make sure to set it to come down in speed as it cools, generally 2c below the threshold I set a new descending threshold with the fanspeed of the next lowest temp. ie, 86c set fan to 50%.

Works pretty well and keep it quiet.

Don't the nVidia System Tools offer profiles like this now? Is RivaTuner a better solution?

Rive Tuner offers the ability to set the fan speed to whatever you want based on core temp. You can set a range. For example from 60c - 75c you can set 60% fan speed and from 77c - 85c 90% fan speed.

hey cmdrdredd, can you walk me through where to set up the fan profiles in rive tuner? I never really used it before for that purpose.

I believe you can do that via the nVidia control panel as well, after you install the system tools. I could be wrong.
