Fans for CM 690

Hi guys,
I am planning to put 6 new fans in my case. I was hoping to keep it as quiet as possible but also have enough cooling power.

Would you guys recommend the SFF21D or SFF21E ? The D version is only 8.5dba and pushes around 33cfm. While the E version is 20dba and pushes around 49cfm.

Petra may have the 140mm Yate Loon fans - bigger fan shouldn't have to work as hard to push the same air. Most of the 690's fan mounts can take 140mm fans.

6 fans? And keep quiet? May I laugh now? Well I guess it'll be cool at least... I have only two fans in my system and it's cool enough. It comes with three but I didn't have any use for the third one really and it's noisy enough as it is.

Why don't you just get two or three 120mm Yate Loon D12SL-12s and call it a day?

Get some "Y" adapters & hook 'em into a rheostat & they can be tolerable. If you get the 80x15mm fan that goes behind the motherboard tray, be sure to hook that into a rheostat...that puppy's loud!!

I've been wondering something for a while. C-M makes at least two cases that can take 140mm fans (and a good number of them in each too). Why don't they sell any 140mm fans? Cogitate on that one... Sounds like the right hand is blissfully unaware of what the left is up to.

You cant blame someone for trying =)

I guess I will just get the F version and use a 5v mod on these fans. If that is too loud, I will just remove some fans.

wait stop stop stop.

The CM690 can take 140mm fans as well.

It has mounts for 2 at the top.

Then another 1 at the bottom.

And 2 more on the side panel.

These all take 140mm. So i dont see why your looking at 120mm.

140mm yate is my first recomendation for quiet cooling.

Yate Loons are loud?

A 120mm SL yate is almost silent. If you have a fan controller and knock it down to 7V it will be as close to silent as you can get.
