I have a tower fan installed on my PC and it's drawing air inwards in to the system. Which direction will the fan be most efficient - drawing cooler air in to the computer or drawing hotter air out of the system?

i always like to have more exhaust than intake.
or the same amount of intake and exhaust fans.

if you have only one case fan, then blowing warm air out will yield better cooling results.

Do a lot of companies that set PCs up install the fan so it's blowing inwards? I'm sure someone else on here mentioned having his fan blowing inwards when he bought his PC too.

I have one front and side fan as intake the rest are exhaust (1 top, 2 rear, 2 PSU) that seems to work fairly well... one thing I want to try is underclocl my proc and then switch all the fans to exhaust to see if the high pressure air that would come in from every hole in the case would be sufficient... also try every fan set to intake.... I doubt wither would be more efficient, but hey I have free time to fiddle around with

I've just turned my fan around so that it's supposed to blow outwards the trouble is air is still blowing back in to the case - the grill holes are too small to let air out properly. So tommorrow I'm going to get some tinsnips and make a giant hole for the fan.
