Positions: Web Developer & User Interface Designer

Web Developers
Working as part of the FatWallet intern team you will be able to spend your summer working with other interns on a real world problem. You will have the opportunity to work with leading web technologies such as web frameworks, AJAX, and various programming languages such as PHP and Javascript. You will experience many learning opportunities throughout the summer. Those technologies you don't know when you get here, you will definitely know more about by the time you leave.

User Interface Designers
Our UI interns will work closely with the other members of the intern team to help define the best possible look and feel for solutions created during the summer. We realize that good design is the heart of usability. We need your expertise in AJAX, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to make the summer project as functional and pleasing to use as possible.

College Senior (self-educated equivalence considered)

yes, but I'm posting this for the anandtech community (i get no benefit for finding talent)

Right now we're not in Rockton, we're in Rockford.
But in January we'll be moving to our brand new headquarters.

Our office will be the best thing in Rockton i'm sure.
Luckily its just a 15 minute drive to Rockford.

As for what the interns came up with, I cannot say. But I can say that it was impressive - and one of the interns is now full time (another works for google)

Our interns and employees are treated VERY well, and not paid via coupons or paypal

Hello Troy,

I can attest to the fact that they do treat their interns VERY well. There is a gym with a golf simulator, an arcade room (hopefully you got to fix the hockey game), and free snacks and soda. More importantly, the people are really nice. Everybody is awesome there and, if your project manager is who I think it is, then it will be a really awesome learning experience. More than a manager, you will be gaining a mentor. Chicago is only 2 hours away and it's an awesome city. I had a great time there, and I learned a lot. Troy, you forgot to mention the other intern (Joel) that interned at Yahoo this year. Finally, Troy, please send my greetings and wishes of happy holidays to everybody at FW!

I didn't know Joel interned at Yahoo, thats fantastic.
Starting january we'll have catered breakfast and lunch, and an even bigger gameroom and fitness center (as well as much bigger and nicer offices).

Bragging about the 'best thing in Rockton'? lol

Access to Chicago from Rockton or visa versa is a lark...its in the middle of nowhere and not even very close to a highway (94). That's 2 hours with no traffic. Who goes places that take 2 hours...its a 4 hour commitment minimum. The best you can hope for is an annual company picnic at 6 flags.

Don't get me wrong, FW should be proud of its success and growth, but holy moly...ROCKTON, IL??? As far as Chicagoland goes, its a distant mirage at best. Milwaukee and Madison are probably easier to get to than Chicago.

I'm sure its a great place to intern since its a short sentence with a successful company, but unless you're a polar bear who loves the arctic air coming down from canada, and loves to live in baron lands, its a considerable sacrifice in lifestyle.

No wonder why you guys are so successful, you probably get as much work done in walmart shopping for groceries, since 1/2 the town is there each night.
