btw if you just want to play single player and bypass Uplay to play early..
just add -offline to your command line..
removes it all and allows offline play.

A fantastic idea for an open world FPS, but handled like an inexperienced teenager.
Seriously now....the game is definitely going for the survival against all odds theme....and yet it keeps on overloading the player with loads and loads of info...where’s subtlety?
No options to turn down the info overload??? Hopefully a user mod should fix this in the near future.
Also looks like it’s just a bit too similar to FC2 if you are stumbling from patrol to patrol.
The gameplay videos do look sumptuous though.

You can't even access the .exe for far cry 3. The folder is empty until steam decrypts it.
I got the game from uPlay (non-Steam) and don't even have the option of pre-loading. Connecting to a VPN in the UK didn't change anything.
Just have to be patient I guess.

So you pre-load it on steam, and then enter -offline in the Steam command line? How do you access the Steam command line?
My fix is for people that have it on CD not steam. which was how overseas was delivered.

Lies! I have it on Steam. Just when I want to play it I have to log into a VPN and then launch it from Steam and then Uplay, after it is launched I can disconnect from the VPN if I want.
Use a VPN to decrypt it then you have to register it on Uplay with the VPN as well.

I downloaded this one http://kryptovpn.kryptotel.net/download/index.html
After you install it
Log off Steam.
Launch the VPN select Australia and it will connect.
Log back on to Steam
Go to your library and hit play for Far Cry 3 (you should have Far Cry 3 pre loaded already)
Far Cry 3 will decrypt.
After FC3 decrypts it will launch Uplay
Uplay will probably have to update (this takes a little bit)
After it is done updating it will want you to enter your CD key that Steam will give you when you launch FC3
After that Uplay will show FC3 on its page and you click on it to launch it and play.
When you are done and quit the game, make sure to back to the VPN program and hit the disconnect button, otherwise your net will be slow for everything
The VPN I have linked above will give you a trial good for 3-4 days.
If you want to play FC3 some other time you need to do the steps above but you wont need to decrypt/update/downloading anything.
I hope so because right now it reminds me too much of FC2. Smart AI though, I was on a cliff and saw a bunch of mercs going to execute a guy so I shot at them (only had 3 bullets) they all jumped in their truck and came around the road to where I was. Meanwhile I jump down the cliff face and the guy that was going to be shot was just standing there with a bottle on his head.and the game keeps getting better and better..
played another 6 hours last night... thought I was getting somewhere.. then I zoomed out the map and realized in 12 hours I'm still in a TINY section of the map..
game is awesome..
the crafting and getting equipped is what is taking me the most time.. but it is very fun hunting animals..
my single GTX670M thrashes the game flat out..in DX11 mode with everything at Ultra.
Well the VPN thing worked, but I am wondering why I am getting 45fps in the very start of the game? That is about what a single 680 should get. Is SLI broken or something? Geeze this was unexpected.
