I've been on every forum I could find for the stuttering issue, and even searched Youtube posts.

It seems like AMD users can fix their issue, if they have one at all, with small fixes like setting GPU buffered frames to 1. Most people seem to be Nividia users, like me that have tried many things, and simply cannot get rid of the stutter.

It does not stutter at all when the camera flies around when you take a radio tower, or when the view pans during a cutscene... only when you move your view/aim. Same exact stutter looking at the ground and some grass while slowly moving your aim, as you get looking at highly complex areas full of vegetation and buildings while you are sprinting and looking around.

Frame rates do not dip at all when it stutters; after setting maxFPS to 30, I never see it drop at all. Get the same exact thing regardless of settings - Ultra runs exactly the same as Low.

I've tried :
Ultra to low and all combinations in between.
Vsync settings in-game, and adaptive in the Nvidia control panel
Triple buffering on/off in the Nvidia panel
Combinations of all the other video options (AA, Vegetation settings, etc)
Editing the config file to limit frames
Different resolutions
Setting max frames to my monitors refresh rate
Running windowed vs fullscreen
DX9 and DX11 (no stutter difference at all)
Disabling Steam/Uplay overlays

how far are you into the game?

Go into control panel and turn the repeat rate down on your keyboard. Some have reported this fixes their problems.

Reading how many people have already finished the game I wonder about my possible investment. How many hours did you guy play before finishing it?

I'm almost 20 hours in and I still have a long way to go on just the first island.

I think the people who are finishing it so fast are just doing the main mission....like any game of this type, if that's all you do you're going to get through it pretty quick.

I found a nice little spot to have fun with mines.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHvUNoHtCL4

Some awesome tiger action too. As I'm coming up on a base, a tiger gets there first. Then a bit later in a gun fight, a tiger runs across the screen chasing an animal. Kinda funny because it comes out of nowhere.

Sweet video I started to play this game for the first time last night. I have been playing nothing but Skyrim for the last year and little bit of GTA 4. I beat Farcry 2 and enjoyed that game, but this game is much more fun. Scared the crap out of me when I killed a deer next to the river and a Croc came up and grabbed me. The graphics in this game are amazing... I finally get to stress my 7950 with a DX11 title. Games runs everything maxed on 1080P. I had to turn vsync on because it was tearing so much.

totally forgot about the mines. I rarely use the grenade or the molotov cocktails, although I am trying to be stealthy, so those things aren't exactly helpful in that aspect, lol.

the enemies in that little processing plant thing in your video respawn.

Last night I had a tiger take out a outpost all by itself. I didn't have to do anything and I took it over, lol.

The mines are great if you get far enough away that they don't know what hit them.

It's very fulfilling to see a land mine do it's job and watch a jeep get obliterated.. or even funnier when patrols walk over them

What do you mean by respawn? I know what respawn means, but in the context of the vid... not sure.

unless you are saying at that particular spot the guys respawn. It's not a base that can be captured and cleared, so that makes sense.

nothing to do with the video. i found that processing plant in the video yesterday (where all the guys came from towards the end, where they were shooting the tiger). I killed everyone and a minute later, there were several more enemies in that spot. they respawn. It's not new guys driving in and repopulating it, they literally spawn out of nowhere.

Yea I think I noticed that too... I had sniped some guys out on the dock, then handled some other business.. a few minutes later I walk down there and more guys are there.

I don't see respawns that often though. Rare enough that when it happens it catches my attention.

I made it about 25 hours into the SP campaign, but it was on medium diff. I decided to start over on hard and just take my time and enjoy it. I'm trying to clear each area first and scoop up as much loot before I move on.

Really hoping for some DLC that expands the game and brings back some hostile areas.

Well, I thought i was basically done with the game since the story missions are finished, but I still have quite a lot of out posts to clear. So, I went to just clear one "real quick" before going to bed. Clearly I have my work cut out for me because on the second island they aren't exactly a walk in the park. I got quite a few hours left in this game between unfinished outposts, fun little side missions etc. I still have yet to see a single crocodile besides the one in the story mission. I will go croc hunting between outpost clearing. Good times. Also, if you get bored you can always kill the natives! At least it gives you someone to shoot or sabotage with C4.

crocs are plentiful around the middle of the first island in the rivers and swampy areas.. usually at dusk..
scare the living crap out of me every damn time.

they are never out of the water either.. but if you use the hunters injection that allows you to see animals then you will see them..

Yea.. crocs are out there. They usually camp out near a shoreline. I've been swimming back to shore and seen one sitting there a few feet from shore underwater staring at some NPC's.. I swam the other direction thinking 'nope nope nope nope nope'.

I still get flustered when they attack and if you don't react quickly they will surely kill you.

Now i'm excited. I'm totally gonna go looking for trouble in those rivers and swamps. Maybe I can scare a pig to run toward a river for some pig on croc sexy fun time.

35 hours or so and I did every mission, tower and outpost as well as all the crafting, and all the collectibles but only about 100/120 relics though since some are too annoying to bother with.

Why do you guys want to hunt crocs, just for fun?

Because the game's hunting element and immersion makes the game worth the money on it's own. I can easily spend an entire night hunting game. Each animal has it's quirks.

Deer come in packs usually and they aren't aggressive, but they will scare easily and they are hard to chase down. So you usually get one shot or else they scatter and disappear.

Where as a bear is aggressive and will get pissed and confront you if you shoot it.

Alligators are hard to find and usually find you.

Tigers can be aggressive AND quiet. They'll stalk you until you sit still for a few minutes and crawl up on you.

The birds (cassowarys?) also come in packs like deer, but they will gang up and maul you in a pack, (where as the deer scatter)..

etc
etc
