I just got mine last week too, originally submitted in March. Not worth the trouble anymore for me. The only one worse was a Naki rebate that Outpost.com finally made good on after 11 months of waiting.

I actually read it here on AT. It wasn't a huge article explaining that SOYO was going to speed it up, another member mentioned something. I think I'm going to give SOYO a call and ask why it takes so long.

btw, I personally would not go through the trouble of either not getting the rebate or having is really delayed. I'm just saying that I thought I read it somewhere.

Soyo is now changing their rebates it seems. Here are the changes I've noticed:

1. The Postmark Date is not months off like some of the older rebates. It's 2 to 3 weeks.
2. Instead of 12 to 14 weeks, the 2 most recent ones were 10 to 12 weeks.
3. You now have to register the rebate online before mailing the UPC and Packing Slip.

I'm not sure it'll make a huge difference but it could trim a month or 2 off the waiting period.

I would still call or email Soyo when the 12 week period is approaching to remind them.

BTW - ZipZoomFly is selling a $160 Soyo board now with (2) $80 MIR's and FREE Shipping.

I got a soyo dragon plus 2 ver1.0 for newegg FAR 2 rebates.
Sept 1st. I'm still waiting. If it comes in (both of um) before this board goes off sale,
I might consider getting it.
IMO it would make a good system to resell, but i wouldn't want it for myself.

I went to Microcenter to buy this Soya Techaid PCI card. Soyo Tech aid.
The Soyo rebate runs from 11-1-04 to 12-05-4.
The rebate states checks will be mailed 10-12 weeks after postmark date of program (which the rebate states it must be postmarked by 12-15-04). That means 10-12 weeks AFTER Dec 15th, which makes it around the first week of March, you might get your check. But they tell you to call if you have not received a check after 14 weeks after rebate program postmark date, which would make the date you could call them closer to the end of March 2005.

So, if I bought this item now and sent the rebate in (Nov 9th 2004), I could expect my check maybe the first week in March at the earliest. Folks that's 17 weeks from purchase date. If I don't get it after 14 weeks after postmark date, I then can call, (19 weeks now) to find out WTF happened to my rebate??
I don't think so.

Read the rebate(s) for this item because it has similar dates and timelines.

Yeah well I got in on this deal and got the mobo last night...the site "www.verifyrebate.com" is down...well kinda I can't submit my request when I click on the submit button it just sits there for a second then refreshes the screen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, I am a sucker for punishment. 3 out of 4 Soyo $50 rebate checks still outstanding on SY-K7VME and SY-P4VGM offers, and I just went in the hole for 4 more! God I'm an idiot!

My concern about Soyo rebates is not so much the length of time but the prospect that they will go belly up before paying the rebates due me. Look at the facts-since last spring Soyo has repeatedly done free after rebates for many different models of their motherboards. (Not just one or two obsolete or poor selling models). Their rebate terms promise extremely slow payout, and those of us who have already gone through this process can substantiate that repeated followup contacts are necessary to get your rebate check, even after it is supposedly approved. Given this history, coupled with the widespread rumors of financial problems and a possible takeover, it is pretty clear that a Soyo rebate is a high risk "investment".

Its like dealing with a pyramid scheme-the early people do fine, the ones at the end get burned badly. At this stage in the game there is no way I would buy a Soyo FAR item unless the item would be worth it to me even if I don't receive the rebate.
