Similar to the deal I got on the s20 but I also had $199 in Fi promo-credit .... they really do make it tempting to upgrade!

The in-screen fingerprint sensor is crap on the s20 and lately it's really bugging me! (takes 2-3 tries EVERY time!)

That Fi s22 @ $299 is looking good!

EDIT: The s22+ @ $399 looks even better considering I can trade in my near-mint s20 for a $280 credit! I may just do it.
Where do you see those deals?

EDIT: nvm, it's for new customers only

I had a very long string of Nexus and Pixels until they didn’t put out a big Pixel 5. Ended up with an iPhone 12 Pro Max since I wanted a large phone. I gave Google another shot with the Pixel 6 Pro but the network connectivity issues were absolutely unacceptable. I run dual SIM Verizon + T-Mobile to ensure that I have coverage absolutely everywhere. On iPhone this was flawless, it just worked exactly as expected with no manual intervention. On the P6P I couldn’t drive two miles to the grocery store without losing connectivity. I finally rage quit and went and bought a 13 Pro Max. I’m likely never going back, it’s ridiculous that Google can’t make their phone do the one fucking thing I need it to do: Speak cellular for me because I can’t do it myself.

I never thought I’d be an Apple user but apparently I’m too old to have tolerance for things that don’t work.

i despise large phones, even the 5 inch pixel 2 that i have feels a little bit too big for me. i wish it was slightly less like my older nexus.

once it gets bigger than about 4.7 inches it becomes harder to use my phone one-handed with just my thumb

^^^ You'd probably hate my Stylus then. I don't care about one handed, I need to be able to see the characters on the screen.

It's been a few days with the OnePlus 10 Pro, and I'm loving it. Great battery life, 120hz refresh rate is butter smooth, and it's as close to stock Android as I've seen. The OnePlus quick charge tech is insane -- I plugged it in at 70% last night and it was back to 100% in less than 10 minutes -- on a 5000mAh battery!

We'll probably get my wife the same -- she has 14 days to get a new free phone until the offer goes away (new line). I'm not concerned about the 2 year agreement -- the only reasonable alternative, from my perspective, is Verizon, and I frankly don't know what all difference there would be, other than coverage in rural Wyoming?

Yup. I pretty much only charge from a usb port on the computer. What I'd like is an infinitely adjustable charger so I could trickle charge overnight, and have it shutoff at my preselected charge level(currently 65%).

I am suspicious of "quick charging" on battery life.

I agree on the super quick charging can be detrimental to long term battery health.

I stick to 18w fast charging and it's good enough for me, vs some of the other phones that charge at over 30w. But standard USB-A port charging is no good for me on a USB-C PD enabled phone.

New = been gone from Fi for 180 days or more so I'm "new" apparently!

Same - next time I need a phone again I'll switch to something else for a few months so I can be a new customer for the 3rd time.

Luckily I live near T-Mobile US HQ so Fi reception is pretty good.

The companies would never commit resources to such a thing. Obsolescence is necessary for the industry to "survive". A bricked battery is either money for a repair shop or the stimulation of a new phone purchase, especially now that batteries are sealed in these days.

Current Samsung phones already offer this feature designed to help preserve the life-span of your phones battery when sitting plugged on a charger overnight. I believe it cuts charging @ 85% though.

The Pixel does too, it charges to like 80% fast, and based upon your alarm will then trickle charge it so it hits 100% by the time it goes off.
