IMHO it's almost a travesty that they tore that stadium down. Irving will probably never have another major venue like that again, it was great for concerts and events, and the acoustics were far better than the new Cowboys stadium in Arlington. It would have also been a killer place to let the high school teams play exhibitions or finals.
Ah, it wasn't that bad as big stadiums go, I was there in '06 last. The seats were of course a bit small, but actually more comfortable than the American Airlines center. I went there not long ago for a Mavs game, and was just horrified at the absolutely terrible seating. It was still way better than the Cotton Bowl, which is far older. Where else in Irving can you hold a concert for 70k fans?
