This was released back on 11/17/2009 but I did not see then because too much was going on.

This is the show that made me want to get the SCI-FI channel. Great show.

If you're into "extras" on DVD, be sure to pick up the UK version of "The Peacekeeper Wars" instead of US version; according to Wikipedia, US release is missing the deleted scenes.

FYI at least seasons 1-2 of Farscape are now streaming on Netflix, along with Dr. Who, Torchwood, Lost, and more. If you just want to watch these once or twice that might be an even hotter deal.

I'm not sure if they would ever be able to release the series in BluRay, because the show was never aired in HD. With shows like Seinfeld, you sometimes can release a HD version by remastering the orginal filmed footage, but shows like Farscape have so many SFX shots that were composited and rendered in SD that Blu-Ray would not look that great in the SFX heavey sequences (just look at how awful the SFX look sequences on the Babylon 5 DVDs because they didn't have the budget to re-render and re-composite the shots for DVD).

Unless they shot, rendered, and composited everything in HD masters and then downscaled it to SD quality (doubtful, because even the new Doctor Who series didn't have budget for HD production until the last series of movies), I wouldn't expect a Blu-Ray release unless they eventually start using the larger BR capacity to create cheaper complete series box sets in the future with one SD season per disk.

They could still look better on blu-ray than DVD since:
- Upscaling from the masters could be done better than the real-time upscaling of your player or TV.
- Higher bitrates and more advanced compression could mean less compression artifacts.

But yes, it sadly wouldn't be real 1080p.
