You guys are a bunch of bitter idiots. World being a better place if she died?
If you guys got a world that actually was as cynical and resentful as you, you would be among the dead in this self corrected fantasy world you live in.

Actually propeller accidents used to be very common before all the safety measures put in.

I wish I could put random spinning blades in many of the above's paths and see how they fare.

How are the propellers on a plane random? As far as I can tell they are usually attached to a giant hunk of metal of some sort. :hmm:

What are we arguing about now in this thread? the insurance co settling the lawsuit? or the chick being stupid? the pilot and the company not providing the proper safety training to the passengers?

I'm surprised there was no ground personal there to help her deplane and help carry luggage / cargo away from the airplane. I know when I traveled by helicopter for work, besides the per-flight safety breifings ( which i sometimes ignored), there was always ground personal to help direct you safely away from the helicopter, and load/unlaod cargo from the helicopter.

First, most here probably never been on any kind of private plane or 'plane' in general.

The props are not so obvious especially at idle. The engines and the other noises around you on even a small airstrip drown them out.

Pros have have accidents.

Meh, my Uncle had a small Cessna when I was a teenager. I would hang out at the airfield while my Cousin was getting lessons and it was pretty apparent to me that is was dangerous and that I needed to be aware at all times. Sure it wasn't the busiest airstrip in the world, but it was active and you just had to pay attention to avoid getting hurt.

I know there are freak accidents (there are freak accidents everywhere) and I would never wish someone be hurt in one, but do I think they should pay closer attention when near a giant machine that can kill them? Yes, of course.

And most would assume that there wouldn't be danger to themselves unless warned.

"everyone" has a story. If you really were truthful you'd know how it's not so obvious.

soo.. propellers are placed in random locations now? bwhahahahaha

It's how planes are made to go faster. Just put another propeller on it somewhere. When they start running out of room they need to put them right at the door. You need to be fast enough to jump through it to get in the plane. She was not fast enough.

The more propellers, the faster the plane can go! It's like adding extra fans on a computer.

That's the problem with lot of people, they expect to be warned of all dangers. What ever happened to having common sense?

Common sense would have most people thinking if they are allowed to walk off a plane, there isn't anything that's going to chop them up still going on.

If most of you guys had common sense you'd be making a fuck lot more money. That's a fact.

They fight tooth and nail and they have great legal representation. ...

Even when unable to get their hands around the issue, it seems some are able to get their head in the game.

Unless of course, those choppers are random.

Are you saying that she used her common sense to make a fuck lot more money.

I am not as pretty as she is. Therefore, if I used my common sense similarly, I would be a head shorter and no better off. It must be nice to be a pretty blond woman in this world where even their stupidity pays better than I can hope to make in a lifetime.

I'd give it up man. I already posted pictures of the plane in question, Aviat Husky, and the fact that you are about 30 inches away from the prop when you get out. I posted that propellers truly disappear in the dark, and at idle there is little localized noise from the prop. Most is from the exhaust.
The pilot was being lazy/careless/stupid and was dropping her at point 'A' at the airport prior to taxiing to point 'B'. He screwed up plain and simple. I know you all hate analogies, but it was similar to dropping a greenhorn on the carrier deck with no training, so he could learn firsthand about jet blast.

And while money making ideas could very well take off it would cost an arm and a leg, and whether or not we'd be happy is up in the air.

While I do agree the pilots has certain responsibilties as far as safeties are concerns but this is not a child here. Its a grown woman.
I saw the plane in question.
Call me stupid but if I'm assuming she's been on that plane for a while so she has to know where the propellers is at.
If I'm getting off the the plane I sure would not to walking toward the direction of the propellers.
Any logical reason as why she would be walking toward the direction of the propellers ?? I can only guess stupidity.
Looking at the picture, I don't see anyone with half a brain would walk toward the direction of the propellers when getting off.
