Bojangles is very region specific. I've never seen a bojangles store. From their website, the closest one to Kansas is in Tennessee. That's not a national chain if its a couple states away...
In fact, the furthest west they go is Mississippi. so yeah, not a national chain. Very region specific.
Yeah, Bojangles is pretty much south east, and primarily NC/SC at that.
A damn crime, really, because they are so much better than everyone else. They offer real biscuits (unlike that limp and shameful crap from Popeyes) and all-day breakfast: Country ham biscuits, the various egg, bacon cheese biscuits...omg heaven. Also, Bojangles
only has spicy chicken. If you don't like it, tough titties.
Though, I would be concerned that growing too large, quality would suffer. They are now owned by some yankee soulless conglomerate from Boston, so I do have concerns about their future.
The one thing that Popeyes does better than their competition is the red beans and rice. That is a damn good side for those type of restaurants. Churches has the worst biscuits, but their spicy chicken is way better than Popeyes. And you can pick up whole jalapenos as a side item--I believe Popeyes does this as well. Also, a Churches "wing" = full wing + ~1/4 of breast. It's like some glorious mutant wing piece. Their biscuits are even worse than Popeyes, though...which is a staggering feet.
Back when Hardee's was just Hardee's, their fried chicken, which they bought from Roy Rodgers, was one of the best. I'm not sure if any Hardee's/Carl's Jr still offer that, though. They also had real biscuits, like Bo. In fact, the original Hardee's introduced the biscuit to the fast food industry. More specifically--the sausage biscuit breakfast menu item.
