Anyone like Pollo Tropical? I've only seen them in Florida but several years ago I started seeing them here in New Jersey but then about 2 years ago they all disappeared from this area.

They had yummy chicken that was flattened and cooked on a grill and their white rice was amazing. Now I can only get it when I visit the mother-in-law.

It was crazy cheap, too.

I like Pollo Tropical. First time I had it was in Miami but the past year or so they opened some near where I live. I also like Pollo Campero but the one near my house closed down. Pollo Campero is similar to korean fried chicken which I am huge fan of.

Popeye spicy chicken is ok. I had some last night because it was on sale. 9 pcs mixed for $9.99 is hard to beat. I also like KFC original but I rarely buy it because KFC is way too expensive. Bojangles has the juiciest chicken of the major chains and the best biscuits. But I feel like something is missing with Bojangles chicken. It's good but not great.

My usual is Publix fried chicken. 8pcs is $7.50 and it's pretty good. For $12, I can get 8pcs with two 16 oz sides and bag of roll. Now that's a deal.

I enjoyed it in San Diego. There are a few out here in the Atlanta area but they aren't corporate and there are no commercials and none of the promotions apply to them. Most people here have never heard of them.

I've eaten Bojangles here and it was nothing special.

when it comes to fried chicken, there are the fast food joints and there are the supermarkets, who have pretty good chicken at a reasonable price. almost always i'll end up buying kroger's chicken over kfc because of the price.

I remember going to KFC as a kid and liking it a lot.

Not so much as an adult.

I went to Popeye's recently - but it was fuckin' terrible. (And not, as Little Nicky claimed, "Fuckin' Awesome.") It seriously tasted rancid. The biscuit was a hockey puck and the beans and rice were a nasty mess.

IMO, the best "fast food" fried chicken around is the deli at the grocery store.

Anyway, in this thread: a bunch of regional restuarants that are proclaimed to be national, when in fact the only actually national chains mentioned were KFC, Popeye's, and Church's... and possibly McDonalds, but really?

KFC and Popeye's taste good but it would be healthier to remove the skin before eating. Not sure if you can order it skinless. I know I'd miss that mouth watering tasty skin though.
