How long something takes to mold up is irrelevant. The reality is that decomposition will happen water sufficient water.

Wheat products can actually turn into to garbage real fast. A old-fashioned Twinkie had a shelf life of only two weeks. That was a more expensive process that was better in terms of freshness of food but required it's own distribution system.

The first Supersize Me was not a very well grounded documentary, it was much closer to propaganda. The second one regarding the chicken farming system was much better in tangible facts.

If you want to eat that garbage as part of your regular diet have at it.... I'll pass thanks. (the occasional "splurge" is fine even if a total ripoff)

Mass-produced potato chips will mold over and get nasty in a year as will nearly any other REAL food .... NOT McDonalds fries though... they're eternal.

A little off topic.
I was on Bale St. in Memphis a few days back looking at the menu posted out front. The first item I saw was French fry's for $13. Guess where I didn't have lunch.

Those fries better fill a whole plate and be topped with cheese and pulled pork or something...

A lot of what passes as food now days is mostly just a careful orchestration of chemical and material science to make something that tastes and looks like the real thing. There is usually some real food product involved but it's mostly all fillers and tons of preservatives.

At one point in summer I noticed someone dropped ice cream in our parking lot, it was just a glob, looked like it fell from an ice cream cone or something. I didn't think much of it except that every time I passed by it, it was still there, undisturbed and I kept having to make sure not to step in it as it just never went away. Not only did it not melt, but no bugs or animals were willing to touch it. That tells you how artificial food is now days. It eventually left after a torrential downpour.

Like bite-sized "blueberry" muffins, in which the "blueberries" are made from Corn Starch, Canola Oil, and Blue Dye.

For the most part, I don't find the distinction between real and "fake" meaningful except to psychologically move people receptive to that dichotomy. I see food as chemicals first. Is there really much of a difference between Twinkies(totally made in factory), Betty Crocker(you finish at home), and totally homemade cake(the foundation is still non-organic wheat flour) in the present? Twinkies use tallow now.

Sodium hydroxide is used to make pretzels.

The closest I'm willing to use "fake food" term is the stuff from Aldi and some selections from Lidl. There's counterfeit garbage from the Chinese I'll admit is "fake" like eggs(mooncake eggs being utterly nasty might be fake).

And sometimes the best foods are actually repulsive to man(i.e pure chocolate w/o sugar) in general.

My point is that the burgers getting decomposed in jars doesn't prove anything either way. And given that there is no 24/7 footage, tampering with the Big Mac burger to delay its molding might have occurred. Be it by desiccants, taking the lid off, or simply putting it under light all the time to inhibit mold development.

Vegetables and fruits decompose faster but they are more meritorious food to eat than a burger.

Use the McDicks app. They have daily deals like free medium fries Friday, buy on get one McDoubles or 6 piece nuggets. I can usually get lunch without a drink for under $5.

There is zero chance surge pricing will work at Wendy's. There are way too many options for fast food crap burger joints that you can go to instead of spending 1.5x the normal price just because it's busy.

Plus, why go to a place where you can't predict the price?

This means a Wendy’s burger may sell at a higher price point during a busy lunch rush, then come down in price during an afternoon lull, and go back up again at dinner time. And it’s not just Wendy’s who is thinking of adopting the practice. As Nation’s Restaurant News previously reported, during the 2022 Restaurant Finance and Development Conference, there was an entire panel discussion on how the restaurant industry could better adopt the system. The only caveat being, if customers will love it or loathe it.

“Wendy’s foray into dynamic pricing is a bold experiment that could help the chain be more efficient and ultimately profitable if it works, " said Caleb Silver, editor in chief of Investopedia, shared with Food & Wine. “But, it does run the risk of angering and losing customers since they actually have many choices, unlike the rideshare industry.”
Yeah, if I walk in and what I'm expecting to be a $7 Wendy's cheeseburger is an $11 cheeseburger, I'm absolutely just going to walk the fuck out and go somewhere else. Guess it could be harder in a drive-through line, but I avoid those whenever possible too.

This for me as well. I think if most people get stuck in the d/t they're more apt to just pay it since they're already stuck. But I also try to go inside when I'm at these places.

My first reaction is that it's a dumb plan that won't work.
But then I remembered most people hit up the fast food joint and pay whatever the menu prices are, without ever checking app deals. Or more to the point, they go grocery shopping regularly without looking at the weekly ad, clipping digital coupons, or making a targeted shopping list to limit impulse buys. And then blame Joe Biden for inflation.

So who knows, maybe the Wendy's CEO has full faith in his stupid customer base. It's a small bonus that he loses customers like me who clip coupons.

Publicly calling it surge pricing was stupid when some riff on "happy hour" was already there. You can communicate it internally with stakeholders as "surge pricing", but publicly, it needs to be time of day discounts, or some variant.

That extra money is going to the staff who’s working the “surge”. Right?

I hate digital menu boards as is because they're constantly changing while you're trying to decide what you want. I kinda figured that dynamic pricing was the end goal when they started to implement them everywhere. And reality is once you're at the drive thru what are you going to do is say you want nothing and leave, after sitting there and waiting? I'm sure someone will make a site like gas buddy that tracks their prices to tell you the best time of day to go.

Fast food companies are really starting to price themselves out of the market it seems. Right now they're in the fuck around part of FAFO. People now days are a little more health conscious to begin with and already starting to cut down on fast food. Stuff like this will drive people over the edge. Or at least, they will just order from restaurants instead. It's not that much more expensive now days and you get slightly healthier food.

Yes. I've left the drive-through on more than one occasion because they didn't have what I wanted. You're just a feckless little sadboi.

I'm thinking he is right and it's time to build a fully sustainable off the grid property, this is just one of the final straws.

Just gotta finish this server room and buy more hardrives, and then a tool, and then some more tech, plus I gotta actually maintain my current property. But I'm starting to plan! FUCK FAST FOOD SURGE PRICING!

Wendy’s has already been raising their prices significantly. ($5 biggie bags now have options at $6 and $7 dollars for example or a single meal is ~$10). If they wanted to raise prices and “sell” the idea of “surge pricing “ they should have said they’ll have “happy hour” or something similar where they discount the price of food during slower times.

Customers generally deal better with discounts at set times than increased prices at potentially random times.

Total marketing failure right here.
