Let us know when you are a big boy and are in an overpaid CEO article one day.

Anyway, its just frustrated millennials.

What does CEO pay have do with your pay? Millenials are "frustrated" because they feel "owed" a hire wage.

Let me see: you own a McDonalds and have 30 workers, and at best, have a 10 to 15 percent profit margin, which may not include employee theft, thrown away food, etc.

All 30 of them want a 50 percent raise immediately. Tell me, how would you deal with that?

Millenials, in this instance, are idiots -- they don't care about profit margins, they don't care about the math behind this, they just want their 30k+/yr salary without offering to lift a finger for it.

This is destroying American.

They are frustrated because they are getting stuck in jobs like Mcdonalds with no way out. This is the first time there has ever been 4 generations in the labor force at once.

There is literally not enough room for everyone. Without a college degree you can't make a living in manufacturing, or open your own business, as small businesses are taking it on the chin, or much of anything at all. Fact is there is always going to be alot of people without degrees especially when tuition is rising 7-10% a year. Its not like millenials had much to do with building the system they find themselves in. They had zero input. Baby boomers on the other hand had no problem shipping jobs overseas. They knew it was bad, but did it anyway. And here we are with people actually trying to survive and raise families on Mcdonalds pay now that the millenials are 20-30. The lowest common denominator we all knew was coming one day or another.

I can agree, and I care about the little people, so to speak.

However, I don't think it's fair to lay this at the feet of employers -- we have an entierly broken system, IMO, and paying a few folks 30k/yr will NOT fix anything. It will hurt jobs, and give employers another excuse to fire people and/or not even hire -- they don't need more excuses. Stop given them one.

However, what we need to teach people is to stop having kids they can't afford, and simplify their personal lives. The job market is tough, and people still want to buy brand new cars and $400 Iphones with $150/mo phone bills, paying $200+/mo in cable bills, etc. They don't want to give anything up, so they ask for more.

I am not saying you can live of min wage, but with some adjustments, life can be easier.

You don't care about the "little people", hell! You call them "little people" for Christs' sakes!

I haven't been reading your posts in this thread, and my sarcasm meter is apparently broken.

What side do you come out on all of this?

I trace it back to offshoring in conjunction with our trade agreements as well. That was cancerous. Short term profits outweighed all here.

The dotcom and housing bubbles masked the underlying problem a bit, but we're stuck with the reality of having sold out millions of workers and their wages to parts of the world with low labor and environmental standards in the name of profits. Our economy is going to have to pay the price for gutting the middle class. Current cost appears to be 85b of money printing each month.

R and D complicit in what led to massive off shoring of American jobs.

The side that is tired of having the American people (aka the government) subsidize the pay for employees of large corporations.

But what does my view have to do with your faux Christian beliefs?

It has to do with your response and your apparent contradiction to your faith that you have brought into multiple threads. I brought it to your attention to see if a reminder of how religious you are would change your position. Predictably it didn't.

Lol -- so its anti Christian to work for your money and not picket for handouts?

I have no clue what you're taking about.

My position has little to do with my faith and more to do with learned values, that if you want something, you work hard for it, and don't act like people owe you a living and a job -- this is my belief.

I'm not a Christian, so help me out. Which part of the bible talks about minimum wage?

Deuteronomy 10:18
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.

Deuteronomy 14:28-29
At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Deuteronomy 15:7-8
If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother. Rather be openhanded and freely lend him whatever he needs.

Deuteronomy 15:11
There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.

Joshua 1:14-15
...You are to help your brothers until the LORD gives them rest, as he has done for you...

Nehemiah 9:15
But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you*heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who*rescued them from the hand of their enemies.

Job 5:15-16
He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful. So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its*mouth.

Psalm 12:5
"Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I*will now arise," says the LORD. "Then I will protect them from those who*malign them."

Shall I continue or is it your opinion that the poor and needy (rob called them "little people") weren't really a concern in the bible?

I especially love how you think asking for a raise is picketing for a "hand out". I thought handouts were for people who didn't work but these people do work so...

"Little people" was a figure of speech describing non-executive workers, not a derogatory critique.... hence, the following words I used: "so to speak".

But I guess it hurts your brain to read and properly comprehend what I said.

Don't get mad at me that you publicaly call yourself a Christian but act like anything but a Christian. I guess you really don't believe what the bible has told you after all.

I'm embarrassed that people in the year 2013 still believe a 2000 year old book over science.

If pointing out your hypocrisy is below grade school reading than so be it.

They arrested protesters in St Louis, MO. No protest permit, and you get arrested. This is a big democratic city.

You can be a Christian and not need the Bible. He never said he fully supports the bible. You are making an assumption. A big one.

Science has not proven (nor can it ever) the existence of 1, multi, or 0 gods and what "religion" (they) are based off of.

So you can easily believe in being a Christian and hardwork. And helping people out that need it and deserve it, and not those that won't even help themselves in their own future.

But hey, keep acting like an ass. It is your right and I fully support it.

Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty.
