Fast MP3 encoder for Win2k

I know this question gets thrown around a lot, but I can't find the perfect program. I've got Win2k, and I'm looking for a good MP3 encoder. I love Cdex when running on Win98, but it doesn't work for me on my Win2k machine. I'm looking for a simple program that can read CDDB and encode MP3s without a bunch of extra unnecessary crap. Does anyone have a suggestion for the best encoder for Win2k that uses the LAME codec or equivalent? Audiograbber would work great, but it is limited due to the hindered functionality when not registered. Thanks.

I use MusicMatch Jukebox 6.0.. Works perfect.. Does everything..

Test Exact Audio Copy (EAC) www.exactaudiocopy.de . It's the best ripper e works with LAME (.exe not dll). Can read CDDB. It's free.

another vote for the music match jukebox. got that and it flies on my athlon 800 system. i remember when it took all day to encode an album to mp3 on a k6 200. now it takes like two or three minutes.

I'm trying MusicMatch and EAC. MusicMatch works, but I don't like that it is so big and has an bunch of unnecessary features. Plus, they shove a stupid bit of some crappy Matchbox20 song on you. With EAC, it doesn't recognize that I ever have a cd in the drive. Anyone ever experience this? MusicMatch is making MP3s for me, but I would like to give EAC a try.

Do you have an ASPI manager installed? Like from Adaptec.... You need that to "see" the CD-ROM under NT/W2K through some rippers.

btw, you can easily delete the crappy sample tracks that are included in musicmatch. apart from the extra unnecessary stuff, it is the best util out there. imo anyway.

Just to let you know, I am able to run CDex on Win2K Pro with no problems. No idea why yours does'nt work.
