I want High rpm 120 mm fans to replace mine. i hav 3 of them on my NZXT nemesis elite case, but the only spin about 1800 rpm. im looking for over 3500 rpm. need more o/c potential. Also, if its possible, one to replace the one on my heatpipe thing that came with my opteron 165. Thanks.

EDIT: I want blue LED ones

With a heavy OC an aftermarket HSF is more important than the fans controling the ambient air in the case but I think your best bet would to do a little search on newegg for the criteria you want.

High fan speed won't get you the best temperatures. Like Finns stated, a good hsf will get you better temps. I had a panaflo Lsomething with about 110CFM (VERY LOUD) and i put it together with my xp-120.. What i noticed was that after a certain point, the fan stops improving temps and all you're really getting is more noise. Just my 2c.

when it comes to cooling highspeed fans are not necessary....
because once you start to displace somewhere between 40cfm to 50cfm the returns are negligiable...

Say you displace 100cfm that will not improve your temps at all.......
especially compared with a fan that displaces say 45cfm.....
It is very possible to reach a point where you actually cannot get any cooler using air..

Yeah I ran a 70cfm Antec and the 115cfm Panaflo on my XP-120 and there was very little difference in temperature. A few degrees at the most. 90% of the temp drop is going from that old stock hsf to the XP-120.

Chances are you don't want the fastest 120mm fan, because you don't want your computer to sound like a vacuum sweeper. I once had a Tonado 80mm fan and I was, well, disappointed on a performance/niose ratio. However, if you have a fan controller in your case, i don't see why you would want a slower fan

Higher speed CPU fans aren't a great plan, but perhaps there is potential for using them as case fans. I'll never do it, but i can see the potential for shifting heat out of the case that way.

If you get a decent heatsink, you'll be limited by the CPU far earlier than your airflow.
Chances are that an A64 won't go above 2.6-2.8 GHz no matter how big/fast a fan you put on it, at least not without going to extreme measures.

You will virtually guarantee that you'll be left alone by the computer though, seeing as I can't understand who'd wanna be in the same room with that fan, if that's good or bad is up to person preference

No matter how hard you stir a hot pot, it will still produce hot soup!

Pay more attention to case cooling as a whole. Furiously moving air over the heatsink for the CPU has limited value. Getting the Panaflo fan would allow you on one end to find that out and also still be able to run slower, while moving alot of air with very little noise.
