Fastest Android browser?

I'm using a Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and I thought Chrome would be the fastest but Dolphin is way faster than Chrome, Opera, or the stock Samsung browser. For example just scrolling the anandtech forums, it stutters nearly every time the address bar comes back into view in chrome and opera. And in general, moving around web pages is smoother with dolphin.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing or is there anything I can do to speed up chrome and opera?

UPDATE : downloaded the Samsung support library for Chrome and it seems to have sped it up!

Naked Browser is the fastest I've used on Android.

Chrome Beta is molasses compared to it. Never understood why Chrome was so slow.

I use Chrome Beta on mine and it works fine

Why would Chrome Beta have noticeably different performance? I thought it was Chrome maybe a version or two ahead of the full release version. Considering they're up to v40 or so, I wouldn't expect a version to suddenly bring better performance as Chrome has been middling for a while now.

Do any browsers support adblock? Ads loading seem to slow down browsing I've noticed..

Not only do ads slow down browsing but they also eat up battery life. Mobile ads are becoming very intrusive and rude, too, which is why I must have root on my phones to install adblock plus.

I've noticed that it depends. On certain sites that are click bait and full of ads, FireFox with Ghostery is VERY fast, but that's because it's outright blocking junk ads/javascript that it doesn't have to render or fetch. On other sites, Chrome is hard to beat.

I have tried Dolphin with JetPack on my older phone. A 2012 era LG with dual 1.2Ghz/1GB of RAM. It didn't help any. That smartphone was just plain old hopeless since it was stuck on Android 4.0. On the other hand a similarly specced Amazon Kindle (original 1st gen) with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) rendered pages wonderfully whether it was the stock browser or Firefox with Ghostery. I didn't bother testing Dolphin with Jetpack. I attest that increase to the Project Butter that improved graphics performance.

I like Lightning and Lucid for a lightweight browser. I pretty much always use Firefox though.

CM Browser is very light and fast. I don't know about "fastest," but some other light browsers I've tried are way too barebone. Might be worth trying out.

Wow, this Samsung support library made Chrome on my GS4 about 10x faster. Can't believe I didn't know about that.

Heh, I totally forgot I had that installed. No wonder I was thinking "what are they talking about, Chrome is plenty fast on my GS4".

Good to hear others having a similar experience with the support library. It's definitely better than before. Still a BIT of lag, but nothing too bad anymore.

Chrome doesn't seem to have stuttering problems for me like you described.
The library package says it is not compatible with my device (S4 with GPe ROM).
