FATAL1TY AN8

Well, I am sad to say I have had to delay my rig build to move off of the nforce2 platform. Looks like I will be on this ABIT NF7S for a while longer.

Right after I decided against the NEO4 platinum, I see that the ABIT FATAL1TY AN8 came out. I have heard mixed feelings about ABIT.

But one must admit ABIT did take the NFORCE2 chipset to unprecedented levels.

So what is the current status on the street of ABIT?
Have they lost their touch?
Is the FATAL1TY a stable board?

I would like to see more experience with these NF4's before I decide to buy one.

Anyway, I guess I wanted to see what people still think of ABIT..

Heh there isnt one review on this board yet that I know of and there is only one guy on these forums that I know of that has bought it. He still hasnt posted any info on what he thought. I to am waiting for info/review on this board before I decide. I think its only been out about a week.

The layout of this motherboard is great, also it looks like ABIT used very high quality components on it (metalized caps, etc).

If I were looking I'd go for it. Never had a bad experience with Abit or any other MB manufacturer yet, except ECS *shudders*.

From what I do know, I concur with CDG. The layout of this motherboard is great from what I can tell, so if I ever intend to upgrade to that board. I'm confident I can transplant my 7700 HSF onto it, minus the "Ramflow" - no biggie.

I believe the hard feelings toward Abit came with the AV8. It was a week design and didn't fair well with the overclockers like Abit has in the past. My Abit KV8 Pro was a beast and I hated to see it go. Abit's lack of producing nForce3 boards is what soured some people as well, but that was a business decision Abit made due to problems with nVidia. As I understand it, the new line of Abit boards are supposed to be very good, more time will tell. I am only using a Gigabyte motherboard atthe moment (it's really nice though) because Abit didn't have a 939 solution for me to suit my needs.
