The statistics would argue with your personal sample of one.
Most of the obese out there aren't tall, ex-football player powerlifters.
Nor is this guy.

I think you missed the sarcasm. Or at least I hope it was sarcasm.
money spent on fattage goes into economy, called sag down economics
Also, I don't like how old people are living too long and costing me money in healthcare costs.
If we could just off 1% of the old people, the US would save $4.6B per year in related healthcare costs. If we set up a Hunger Games sort of competition for the geriatric, we could further subsidize the cost of the remaining old folks from advertisement proceeds.
Bonus: knowing that you might be in a Hunger Games competition when you get old will motivate you not to be a fatty as you roll up to your death years.
Things will be better when I'm in charge.
Nor is this guy.
This also makes you the exception to the rule (and good for you, by the way). Usually if you see fat parents, you will see fat kids in tow.So you think I came in here and made all that up and labelled myself a fatty to feel better about myself? Have you even read the bullshit in this thread? Fat people are the most discriminated against group in this country now, other than maybe Muslims.
The thing most of you need to realize is this is usually a problem that starts at home and is a seemingly minor failure on the parents' part. I have 3 kids and we feed them very specific amounts of food and limit their snacks, and have completely removed sodas from the household in an effort to prevent this from happening to our kids (and it has worked spectacularly).
This is, again, another example of our country turning into a nanny-state instead of relying on the parents to do their jobs. I had excellent parents growing up, luckily, but I would label this as their one real failure in raising me...and it is a failure that will not perpetuate itself.

I don't lift a lot at the same time but I do lift a lot of food over the span of a week. Does that count as powerlifting? I use a shopping cart instead of my Rascal scooter so I don't understand why I'm gaining so much weight. I think it might be genetic since all of my relatives are unemployed and obese as well. We just need better geneticists. The statistics would argue with your personal sample of one.

It's hard to estimate, but probably closer to 20%. Diabetes, almost always obesity related, alone is estimated to take up 10% of healthcare costs. And it is a lot compared to the rest of the world.

you do know that about 15% of the poulation in japan has Diabetes and they are not fat at all.
Tax the fuck out of soda (and other sugary drinks)
Prioritize pedestrians, bikes, and public transit in urban planning
Stop subsidizing auto centric planning
Use soda tax to subsidize gyms

Fat people should be heavily discriminated against, it's for their own good and if enough shame is put on their heads, maybe they'll finally get off their fat lazy asses and stop being a fat parasite on our society. Mandatory fat camps should be implemented and if they choose not to join, we fine them heavily. If they want to live a high fat life, they should be footing the bill, not regular people.
Sin taxes are ridiculous and wouldn't stop people from being fatasses unless you took it to astronomical extremes. It's not any different than gas prices; every time they go up people start yapping about how it's going to impact driving habits, but it never does.Amen, tax it like cigarettes.
You know, I don't think you've ever put forth a decent post since you've been here.I have said it before and I will say it again. Round up fat people and put them in re education camps where they will learn how to eat and work out just like Biggest Looser only on a massive scale. If someone doesnt loose weigh don't let them out. Euthanasia would probably be a cheaper and quicker option also and should be considered.
