Faulty PSU and Newegg

I had my computer checked out because it wouldn't power up and they said the PSU is down. I have the OCZ600GXSSLI 600W RT How would I go about returning it or getting my money back? I bought it off newegg.

1) Log into your account at Newegg.com

2) click on "Go to my account"

3) click "Return Item (RMA)"

You need all the original packaging to return directly to newegg. if I dont have all that then what?

I dunno, email them and ask if it's OK. Or take it up with OCZ's customer-service people, maybe they'll RMA it directly for you.

Yeah. They generally require you to beat them in a UT2004 Capture-The-Flag match before they'll let you have an RMA. If you lose, you can challenge them to a best-of-3, but that's about it. Do you know some good UT players who can team up to help you?

This isnt the first time Ive had trouble with it. It is defective. I never bought a warranty, I don't think, off the newegg website directly from the manufacturer so Im doubting now that I can even get my money back or a replacement.

Newegg says it has a 3-year manufacturer's warranty, so you ought to be OK. It's a drag to have your system down while you wait for the replacement, though

Print out the Newegg invoice as your proof of purchase. That'll show you're the original owner, and the date of purchase. Since it has a 3-year warranty and they haven't made them for that long, it's pretty clear it's under warranty, right? :thumbsup: These companies will often be extra-nice about warranty claims in order to generate some positive PR, so just call or email them and let them know what's up.

NewEgg is very good about RMAs, if you have ANY issues contact their service people directly I'm sure they'll do anything in their authority to ensure it's a good experience. Then again, I was pretty decent at UT2k4 back in the day so perhaps my reputation cowered them into granting me an easy RMA the one time I had to do it...

Instead of wasting time arguing with people that are trying to help you here, just contact NewEgg's RMA department and get the power supply replaced.

if newegg will not return it for you you can go here http://www.ocztechnologyforum..../forumdisplay.php?f=56 and setup an RMA through OCZ. i have returned a couple of power supplies recently through them with no trouble at all. top notch support by them, i had no receipt either.

I just contacted newegg for an RMA. I hope it wont disqualify me not having the original packaging.

I had a DOA PSU from OCZ and they replaced it right away...just make sure you return all the cables......
