Cyrix 133 mhz ( PR 166) I had that baby since 1997 and lasted until 2004 (ups) until I've decided to throw it away, since it wasn't good for anything.

Sempron 2800+, socket A. Crappy cpu really. I bought it because there were no more Bartons on the market and couldn't afford any Intel or A64.

Athlon64 3000+, AM2. That was a fantastic CPU, overclocked it to 2.7 ghz from 1,8 ghz. Great budget chip.

Athlon64 X2 3800+, AM2. Good cpu for its time.

Athlon64 X2 4000+ ( brisbane ), AM2. Great AMD overclocker. Managed to touch 3 ghz with it.

E7200 - fantastic chip

Favorite CPU's eh?

I'm assuming that we're talking for the time that they were "new" or "cool" to have...

Let's see...

Favorites:

Athlon 64 3400+
Was in my main system for the past 4 years. Still runs about anything well with a 1950pro agp card. This was truly the first processor/setup I had that I didn't feel like it was slow or that I needed to upgrade.

Athlon XP-M 2400+
Overclocked to 2400MHz (200 faster than a 3200+) with no sweat. Still kicks butt.

Athlon XP 2400+
Was happy with this one around 2003ish. It was a 2000Mhz 133 variety. Did well back in the day. Snappy and trouble free.

Duron 600
Finally went to socket a and had this guy running at 866 with stock voltage. I'm not a huge gamer so it suited me well for quite a while.

K6-3+ 450
Before my long foray into Socket A, I had this badboy up to 600. Despite sucking at a lot of games, it was actually OK for quite a few. And it seemingly ran regular apps with no sweat...I couldn't see a difference between it and a lower-end P3 or Duron.

Not-so-favorites

Slot-a Athlon 600
Performance was good although stability sucked. I guess thats more the boards fault (remember the old irongate boards having issues with video cards?) but it still left a sour taste in my mouth.

Phenom
I was very disappointed like 2 months ago when I pieced together a phenom system as an upgrade to my 4 year old 754 setup. I really didn't see all that much difference, and benchmarks were often only 5-10% higher.

486 Dx-2 50
We're talkin old school. This was my first system and it really sucked. Probably sucked the most for my parents after they bought it for like 2 grand back in 1992 or 1993ish and it was pretty much obsolete within a year. I know, I know, everything seems slow after a year or two but it was ridiculous. At least I learned a lot on that system and it was bearable (but still sloooow) when I "upgraded" to a 5x86 133@160.

P233MMX
It was a welcome upgrade after suffering with that old 486/586 for a few years, but it just wasn't all I had hoped for.

Have to second the 300a - Mine ran at 504 MHz effortlessly for eons.

The Duron 600 was an awesome little chip as well for the money.

Fav: AMD K6-2, OC'd to 650MHz from 500MHz
AMD Brisbane 3600 OC'd to 2.52GHz
Thunderbird 1.4GHz at a ton of heat and no OC head room, first CPU for my gaming system
Dell e2180 OC'd to 2.4GHz on stock volts
EDIT: My new Q6600, 3.0GHz on stock Volts, tho VID is 1.325 G0

Bad: Cyrix 366MHz, shorted out my compaq mobo
Intel Pentium 4 2.6C, never OC'd for crap, but ran cool

Favourites:

1. X2 3800+ I think i ran it stock for a day, still runs at 2.7ghz for 2.5 years now.
2. Current Q6600 would run it at 3.6ghz if I bothered moving the watercooling kit from second comp
3. P4C 2.8ghz first comp I bought myself

Bad:

1. K6-2 500 comp given to me, not only was it slow it was an unstable POS.
2. Celeron D 2.4ghz slow, hot, made the case into a nice leg warmer/ heater
3. B3 Q6600 this thing is uncoolable by anything other than water, loads to 70C + with a TRUE at stock.

Meh:

1. P4C 3.2ghz and A64 3200+ I have no idea why I bothered buying these to upgrade my 2.8ghz P4 comp

Coolest- E7200 and the Q9450 just because it's a work horse.
