Since they started in the 80's, Metallica. And since their best album was in 1987 (Appetite for Destruction), Guns n' Roses.

Neither band is truly an 80's band, though, since Metallica is still together and Gn'R didn't split up until the mid-90's. I wasn't really into music in the 80's. I was only 8 when we changed to the 90's. LEGO's were so much cooler at the time

Don't need to say anything about Queen, they just rock. Not much of a fallowing in America, but I have talked with people from Aust., GB, and they say Queen is as Big as the Beatles.

I think queen are absolute monsters everywhere outside the us, recent poll in uk by the bbc " greatest single in music history ?"
No 1 on that list = bohemian rhapsody above the beatles, radiohead, beach boys et al.
