Firebird....haven't tried any of the other alternatives, but I like is so much more than IE. Why? Tabbed browsing is number one reason but the extensions are pretty neat too.

Netscape 4.78.

...when I'm drunk and can't tell the difference between a blue E and a sailboat steering wheel.

Otherwise it's IE6 for most work. I like what I see in Firebird and Netscape 7.1. And NS7.1 does seem faster than Firebird. Or I could be drunk again...

myIE2 hands down. Love them mouse gestures. Kinda annoying though when you get used to them and have to use someone else's PC that doesn't have it.

Microsoft Internet Explorer. Other than all of the service packs, patches and/or updates ...I didn't have to install anything. It was built in!

Internet Explorer. Fast loading, easy to use and it displays pages correctly. Makes sense considering 97% of the people hitting our site (not a little site) use it as well.

Why people code for the other 3% is beyond me. I will say that they are the ones that complain loudly, but only roughly 30% of people who hit our site buy something. If we lose $2,000/year I am ok with that considering it would cost more money to it code for netscrape and opera.

I'm looking at this using opera, yet the forum is also capable of being displayed on IE and other browsers, you know why ? because HTML, JAVA etc are standards, the only one that breaks those standards from time to time is MS, if you just code a page using valid HTML, and valid CSS everyone will be able to read your page.

You are saying that all browsers display the same page the same way if they are coded using the standards of http://www.w3.org/ ?

I am more than willing to show you 30 emails I have sitting here to show you otherwise

Coding with valid HTML and CSS is useless when MS "breaks those standards from time to time." I always have to throw in some crappy HTML to make sure that a page renders in most browsers.

Firebird seems alot faster on my crappy dial up than IE6. Although I really miss that "Right Click, Spell Check" thing from an IE6 plugin that was posted here not too long ago. It was ActiveX though, so I don't miss it too much

Firebird - only use IE to go to cartoonnetwork.com with my daughter........

I will add that I can't get Quicktime to work correctly at all anymore in either browser!

Mozilla is pretty decent for site development, as it has built-in JavaScript debugging functionality, and it's nicer than IE IMO. It's also generally a stable browser as far as I've seen. Been running 1.5 since release day and it hasn't crashed at all, in either Windows or Linux -- although the majority of my use of Mozilla is in Linux.

N7 Compact.
N7 Streamline.

'Save Netscape' petition to AOL.

It's too late for AOL to go back at this point, and no amount of loobying will fix it. Mozilla is now a nonprofit and won't likely be bought back.

Can't believe the overwhelming popularity of firebird here. Only heard of this browser a couple of weeks ago.
