Golf club, iron. I used to carry one around in my car, if cops asked about it I said I occasionally play miniature golf.

Book, as used by Jason Bourne in one of the movies, hell even the magazine that he rolled up seemed pretty bad ass.

Damn, you stole mine. When I first saw that scene I started considering how heavy and sturdy a hardcover book is and realized it actually could be used as a pretty decent weapon.

How about the teacup from Riddick?

Phone book. I love it when the good guy in an action flick grabs the closest thing to pummel the bad guy and it's a phone book.

That is probably my favorite scene in any Vin Diesel movie.

Some from a few episodes of life behind bars:
Newspaper rolled up so tight that it becomes hard and pointed enough to use as a shiv
Toothbrush handle rubbed against concrete to make it a sharp point
toothbrush handle melted with lighter and part of razor blade from disposable razor inserted into melted plastic
bones from food sharpened to make stabbing weapons - pork chop bones seem to be a favorite, one prison even stopped serving it for food
melting styrofoam cups and plastic from bags and throwing it on your target after lighting

They taught us that in advance hand to hand in the Army. The rolled up newspaper/magazine, and a plastic card (credit, driver license etc...) held high with about half and inch exposed can lacerate pretty good, and it isn't a clean cut. Awesome class, lots of fun, and you learn some interesting things about the human body and how to break it quickly.

A board with a nail in it or a sock with a cue ball in it. Extra points if it turns to dust after you get done kicking ass with it.
