[*]Baseball hitting the "sweetspot" of a baseball glove
[*]Thick and heavy powerchords on guitar (Tom Morello from RATM and Mark Tremonti from Creed come to mind)
[*]Skateboard wheels on cement
[*]Birds chirping

Least Favorite sounds:

[*]People gagging/throwing up
[*]The classic "fingernails on chalkboard".
[*]Dishes in the kitchen clanking together
[*]Things snapping (makes me think of bones breaking )

classical piano
birds chirping
crickets in the evening during summer
sound of the ocean
sound of water gently lapping against a wall (don't really know how to describe it)
sound of a my bf sleeping and breathing next to me


least favorite sounds:

construction...drills, power saws, etc etc. (there's construction going on in the lot next to our office and it's driving me INSANE)
fire alarms..especially in office buildings. those things can make a person go deaf
annoyingly high/whiney voices..especially when it's a woman

dogs barking all nite when im trying to sleep (i love dawgies tho)

Lots of guitars, distortion (aka Sonic Youth or Jesus Lizard at their peak).
A train (at a distance).
The sounds from an NHL game 10 rows from the ice (skates on the ice, puck hitting wood on a sharp pass, a hard check into the boards, the goal horn).

Least Favorite:

Alarm clock or trucks backing up.
Our cat mewing incessantly until I open the door (to my computer room).
The telephone ringing.
Babies crying. Or cooing. Or laughing. Or pretty much any sound babies make.

Yes, the temperature differential between cold beer and warm atmopshere gives it a more satifsying "chiich" noise.

I don't hate babies. It's just that the only time I see them is in public places (generally). And the sounds they make are particularly annoying. If it's a friends' or relatives', well then it's acceptable
