Favorite multiplayer shooter?

I haven't played many online shooters in a while and want to get one. I have MW4, MW:Mercenaries, Splinter Cell on the way. I used to play CS, but stopped.

Which do you reccommend?

Depends on what you like more.

Mohaa, for the sound, and pure sniping goodness
Sof2, or 2k3 for fast aggressive play, and just gib after gib.
CS, Tribes2, and BF for teamplay.

That's JMO though. SOF has to be the leader for gore imo

It depends on the style of play you want. Q3 is a fast frag-fest. You die, respawn, grab a gun kill some people and die again within 20 seconds a lot of times.

I only played UT2003 demo for a little while, but it seemed similar.

CS involves a bit more strategy as you don't respawn right away.

BF1942 is much more strategy oriented (although you can just go out and blast too), as you respawn almost right away, but you are usually a little ways from the action and have to run to it.

That's about all of those that I've played.

I know it's sad but I'm stuck on Delta Force 3, I was able to play it at work a couple of years ago and got really good and now it's tough to go into another game that I get get crushed in.

The great thing about it is you don't need a GeForce 3 and a 1.5mb connection to play online, a GF1 and good 56k connection will allow you to play mostly smoothly (is that a valid word combo?)
