Definitely an honorable mention to all Squaresoft games. Final Fantasy series and Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger, hell they were all great.

That game was awesome. Back when I got a SNES it was the only game I had other than Donkey Kong Country. I tried playing it about a year ago and I absolutely sucked at it.

Air Force stage has my favorite UNS level music

Best music on NES I would say would be either Megaman II Dr Wily's Stage 1 or Final Fantasy III's boss music. On SNES it's Chrono Trigger's Magus Theme.

Replace that with Chrono Trigger for me as I have yet to play Chrono Cross.

RPGs tend to have some memorable music, enhanced by the gaming experience. Some games whose soundtracks I really like:

- Xenogears
- FF7
- Deus Ex
- Chrono Trigger
- Chrono Cross (opening theme mostly, beautiful piece)
- Freespace

Technically it's not a game, but I still find the Second Reality soundtrack to be amazing, especially since it was all done with ScreamTracker. Unfortunately YouTube doesn't do stereo, which soils the experience a bit.

There's a lot of video game music that I like, though. A couple of the SNES RPGs(FFIII, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Tales of Phantasia); Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 10 (the ones that I've played); Halo 1 (only played part of 2, but it was good); Total Annihilation, Morrowind, Oblivion (Jeremy Soule is awesome); Sonic 2 and Knuckles... and a whole lot of other games (or, more often, specific songs from games).
