Fright Night ahead of its time for special affects and the comedy mixed in makes it my favorite but like most it is now dated.

Other funny horror type movies with great special affects for their time would be Re-animator, from beyond and Dead Alive staring timothy balme with Director of the lord of the rings Peter Jackson. All funny and all very gross and bloody but humourus too.

Sadly there really aren't any. The few decent ones have been mentioned; Ginger Snaps, American Werewolf in London, and Dog Soldiers are about as close as they get to good. I'm hoping Blood and Chocolate is good but I really doubt it will be. If you want to know some good werewolf books there I can be more helpfull.
