Seeing GLQuake on a Voodoo1.
Stepping outside for the first time in Unreal.
Coming out of the pipe in RTCW in time to hear the jet take off.
Finishing Ultima III on my Apple IIe.
Seeing Far Cry's outdoor areas for the first time.

Countless Civilization, Civilization II, Civilization III games but my most memorable moment would be when I started doing well in ladder at StarCraft...

favourite? . . . just one?!?

i've had hundreds . . . that's why i keep on playing . . . . (hopefully) my "big gaming moment" belongs to the future.

Anyway, i've had many memorable moments - most recently was a laugh-out-loud at Vin Diesel's dialog in the cutscenes in Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay and thinking how clever the writing was - unlike his movies . . . . (e.g. in a cutscene, after he slaughters the heavily armed guards surrounding him although he has no weapons, he slowly turns to the chief Bad Guy and says, See what you made me do
. . .

. . . the opening of the original HL was memorable - i just knew the game would be special by the incredible attention paid to detail in the train ride to the Black Mesa . . . . .

. . . . Max Payne dodging bullets with Bullet-time

. . . . Serious Sam facing a screen FULL of enemies (and wasting them all)

. . . . the plot twists of Thief series and DeuSex . . . .

. . . . all the way back to the worlds i immersed myself in with SuperNintendo (can't forget the long fight with Dracula at the end of Castlevania) and Genesis and even the early arcade games like Ms PacMan and Q*bert . . . .

. . . Still hoping for that HOLODECK experience before i die.

Thanks. But really I only played a few hours each day inbetween school, hockey, and meals. It was the most I had ever paid for a computer game (80 bucks Canadian). But it was well worth it.

My friend and I were playing 8 other players in a 8vs2 round.

In the end, we won and I killed 7 of their teammates.
Even got a screenshot of the end-of-round-stats page.

Mind you, I was injured and limping around near the end but still ended up on top with the trusty MP5 and 9mm pistol.

Oh man, I miss playing RS.

I used to play Rogue Spear on there all the time!

My handle was SideShowBob.

MP5 was good but I liked the Uzi and Steyr-Aug best. I usually went with the .40 for a side arm, but I could pick people off long range with the 9mm with silencer.

The first lan that we played ET and the first time I used the sniper class

I had the most kills and highest accuracy for most if not all of the games we played which of course were very close and intense. The funnest gaming times I have ever had probably.

And more recent, HL2.... 'nuff said

Here are a few...

In RS it was put on survival and I killed 12 guys. It all happened in CSL - and no - I wasnt camping.

In Age of Mythology their was a 2v2 and this one guy bunkered in medeteraneon (age was mythic)...he builds a wondder and at 1min remaining I send an army by ship (through the middle) to destroy it. I reach it at 30 seconds and on the last second I tear it down. it was literaly 3...2...1..Your wonder has been destroyed.

That happened 2 times. then he gave up .

A few other RS moments - like getting 6 kills in a games etc...

Making my own RS map in the ball room...and having the second team start in a small box with a small hole at the top. the first team would start on the top level with a view of the small whole. Just good enough for a frag

So many:

-Seeing hardware accelerated graphics for the first time (Quake 2 I think it was)
-Whupping so much ass at CS back when I was at uni that they thought I was cheating
-Finally being able to fly the apache in Desert combat and to kill with it
-Pulling off fluke shots like shooting down fighers in the apache
-Finally playing HL2 after all that delay and anticipation

So many moments in EQ were great for me. I played at release, and met a group of people quickly into the game, and we were grouped together ALL the time. Finding certain mobs for the first time, and wiping out a few times before we had a strategy. Going to a new zone with absolutely nobody in it, and discovering things. All fun times.

my best moment was playing Civ3 after several failed attempts to win over space civilization quest and I finally made it 2 months ago.

Mine's fairly recent... and maybe not my all-time greatest, but getting the upgraded gravity gun in HL2 and whipping bodies around was a lot of fun. thx in advance for any replies.

agreed. that was so much fun...they should let you play through the whole game with that thing (the second time through)

You know what was a great one? The first time I used the meteor god power in Age of Mythology. I crapped my pants.
