I've got a Nokia Multigraph 447XPro; aperature grille monitor, so it's got 2 dim lines running horizontally across it. But the quality is great. Good colors, very sharp text, and it supports high refresh rates up to 1280x1024. It does support 1600x1200, but only at 72Hz - that's too much flicker for my eyes to tolerate.
Oh, it's a 17" CRT.
You building a new computer soon?

Don't get a Phillips, you'll be sorry. Sounds like you are on a budget, try the Quantex 19" here link.

It is only $169 shipped, good service. This thing is a Diamondtron true flat tube and has some serious electronics, 1280 x 1024 @ 100Hz, 1600 x 1200 @ 75Hz. I expected some luke warm monitor but this is was so good I gave my 20" Trinitron to my daughter and kept the Quantex for myself.

I bought one of those Quantex/Diamondtron's that rogue1979 recommended. An aperture grill 19" for $169 shipped. Very nice indeed! My only regret is that it was/is for my son and he won't trade for my Compaq(sniff.) Thanks rogue1979.

Really? I was under the impression, Phillips screens are pretty high-quality stuff...
Hmn...Could someone give me the rundown on Phillips 109S40 and 107B monitors?
Looks like I'd better off looking at high-end 17"...

I Love my Samsung 950p 19inch, great colors, sharp text, excellent for gaming...and now I am waiting for my new Samsung 900NF Trin to come in from Dell I ordered during their 20% off sale shipped at $260...I play DAOC alot and looking forward to running two chars on my 19inchers side by side. I like the NF series, they are always rated very high for price vs performance, specially by alot of gaming sites, I think PC world gave the 900NF its number 1 slot out of top 10. Can't beat the resolutions...now I can game at 1600x1200 with less eye strain...you know...the 14 hour straight viewing kind on the weekends
Edit: the Sony G420 19inch was only $312 on the last Dell sale, I opted for the Samsung tho, needed the extra cash to upgrade to a GF4 4200 128mb card.

Just purchased the new Sony CPD-E440 at NewEgg($307 w/free shipping and was black model this was upgrade from a '99 Optiquest V95(org.$425) The difference is jawdropping, only regret was not upgrading sooner.Required very little tweaking 1280X1024 @ 85 HZ up to 1600X1200 @ 75HZ / have mine 1024 X 768 @ 100MZ (manual only list up to 85 MZ but Windows allows 100 MZ any thing to worry about running @ 100 MZ (easy on my old eyes)
