If he does end up playing here and the Viks have a decent season, I'll order up a big 'ole plate of crow although I'll still be bitter over the training camp thing. On the flip side, if the Viks end up bombing again, you can be damn sure I'll be the first guy to say "hate to say I told you so - ALRIGHT!" Just like the dude from The Hives.

He doesn't have to have a good season. He just needs to have a better season than what you think your other QBs would have had in his place... which means he basically just needs to put on a helmet and get in the huddle because your QBs are awful.

Talk about stringing a team through the media. Poor Minny. Someone buy this guy a douche because he's obviously a woman masquerading in a QB's body.

The only time over-rated should ever be in the same sentence with Favre is if we are talking about his acting in There's Something About Mary. Even if his play has diminished the last 2 or so years. Even so, he had a super first half with the Jets and people were talking playoffs and super bowl run. Didn't pan out but still proved he still has some gas in the tank.

Favre was a good quarterback in his prime yes, but I think these days he's more injury prone and inconsistent than he was in the past. Jordan was one of the best players in his prime but I don't think teams would sign him to win games in the season after he played for the Wizards that one year. They might sign him to increase revenue but the NFL has profit sharing going on. I don't know how much misc sales teams get, though.

It's tough to pinpoint the blame on just one person. It's probably partly/mostly on Favre for being so wishy-washy about retirement. It's partly on the media for eating up this story all the time. And it's partly on the fans who encourage the media to broadcast these types of stories.

Jordan was still okay when he played with the Wizards but everyone else on the team just didn't come together so it looked like 1v5 on offense. With Favre, I don't know how well the Vikings will come together as a team, but him avoiding training camp and the preseason, might earn some bad blood between him and some jealous teammates.

now that's a ridiculous exaggeration.

This retire / i'm back / retire / i'm back cycle is really silly.

however, i think a old ass Favre is still a better QB option than Jackson or Rosenfels.

I really think the vikings should have made a run for Tyler Thigpen...

No way...the chiefs are gonna need him after Cassel flops, and Croyle gets hurt yet again.

You know your team is desperate when you sign 90 year old Brett Favre.

Hey, I hear that Vinny Testeverde is available!

LOL. And that is the point of everyone here. Favre is an obvious upgrade over Rosenfels. Favre is an obvious upgrade over T-Jack.

As a vikings fan, I am happy that they made the team better. Isnt that all that matters?

You think? Sage Rosenfel or Tavarius Jackson. What a combo to have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably do better having Adrian Peterson run the option.

This won't matter until the playoffs. A retarded chimp at QB could win the division for the Vikings against that competition.

Um, that's not my point. My point is I don't like his attitude. And as far as the team being better - we'll just have to see!

Boo to this. I'll cheer for him because he's a Viking now and I have been a Vikings fan since I was a kid, but I wish he would have just stayed retired.

Sure it's all that matters, excluding the media circus he put his teammates through with his attention whoring yoyo brain. Wait until you guys start losing for sht to really hit the fan. Everyone loves a legend until they start showing their age.

I think this is a good situation for the Vikes, honestly they don't have a better option at QB. If this can take any heat off of AP and Brett can stay healthy this will benefit the Vikes a ton.

I can't believe there are people calling Favre "injury prone". Are you kidding me?? You can call him all sorts of things regarding his flip flopping, whining, crying etc etc, but calling him injury prone is like calling Cal Ripken injury prone. The guy holds the damn record for consecutive starts at any position -- while playing a position where guys rarely go one or two seasons without getting hurt in some way.

Good for the vikings that he's going there. I'm sick of all the "will he or won't he" coverage, let him sign and we can all move on to the season.....

Has he had a better career than Sage Rosenfels at this point? - Yes
Has he had a better career than Tavaris Jackson at this point? - Yes

So, did this make the team better? Yes, yes it did. We gave away nothing and got a much better player in return.

When it comes to team chemistry - yes that might change. It might change for the worse or for the better. Who knows until the season starts right?

But if you look at the team on paper, the Vikings just got WAY better. I dont know how you could argue against this.

I'll be buying are Favre jersey now just to piss off my packer-fan friends

Those saying people wanting favre are only fair-weather fans, can't the same be said about the many packers fans who now despise him? Obviously there is some reason behind it, but considering a few years ago many of them would bow down at his very presence, I think it may still apply.

The thing is, he knows what to look for, a head is one of the biggest things that "makes" a QB, he has that, and with AP and Taylor pounding it on the ground, he's gonna have easy throws to make.

Other than $10-$12 million dollars and cap space sure, the Vikings "gave away nothing".

Boy, Rosenfels and Jackson must sure appreciate working hard all through training camp, only to see Favre get handed the keys to the next preseason game without so much as a snap with the 1st team.

At least there's one other person that gets it.

Curious, how long it will take Favre to learn the playbook. Isn't he also overcoming shoulder surgery?
