Yeah I think he's a potentially high reward pick for little risk.
QBs in my estimation:
1. D. Brees
2. T. Brady
3. P. Manning
4. A. Rogers
5. P. Rivers
6. C. Palmer (serious injury risk here)
7. D. McNabb
8. K. Warner
9. M. Schaub
10. T. Romo
11. M. Hasslebeck
12. E. Manning
13. J. Cutler
14. M Cassell (gut feeling that Cassell + Bowe = money)
15. M. Ryan
15. C. Pennington
16. B. Favre
17. J. Flacco
18. M. Bulger
19. D. Gerard
20. B. Rothlisberger
21. J. Delhomme
22. T. Edwards
23. K. Orton
24. B. Quinn
25. Cambell
26. M. Stafford (assuming he starts)
27. M. Sanchez
28. S. Hill
Stupid Favre & the Vikings, what were they thinking? Wait..what?
Edit: Also big WTF at $10-$12 million. Give him the vet's minimum and see if he can actually throw a TD before throwing 5 INTs.
it's not what were they thinking, it's the way they all and espn went about it. i don't need an update from farve's commode every 5 minutes. i don't need press conferences from the GM saying it isn't going to happen before it does. i don't need farve saying he's retired and then not retired every month. just admit that you hate preseason football as much as everyone else in america and get on with it.
Fuck Farve....Favree...whatever....how is it that you can carry the r before the v anyway? He's going to get the Vikes exactly where he got the Jets...nowhere...I hope a Packer breaks his ass in one of their two games this season. Poetic justice at it's finest....I predicted it here first!
This guy needs to take a hint and retire. You're not good anymore. John Smoltz needs to take this advice as well.
Now, if it's a gimmick and the Vikes are doing it because they want to sell more tix then more power to them. Even if it was at the expense of dragging your team through the media.
It is both sad and amusing to watch Brett Favre completely trash the Hall of Fame career he built with the Packers. It's like Michael Jordan with the Wizards, except with 100x the drama and stupidity.

Thank god you had to bump a old thread three times in a row instead of doing one post...
Too bad he waited until he's 40 to have a season like this...
Anyone saying 'I told you so' can pull your heads out...you can't possibly say you saw this coming, in particular 9-1 and possibly the best year of his career.
My bad, Pinocchio.
pwnedThis is just getting stupid.
pwnedIt was stupid awhile ago. This is just the next chapter.
pwnedThis completely sucks, if true.
pwnedJesus Christ.
pwnedMost overrated QB of all-tme
pwnedan Epic Fail yes.
pwnedPast his prime and injury prone... how fast can we sign him up?!? Dumb.

pwned, and enjoy your crow... However, since returning to play with the Jets, he hasn't been anything to write home about. If he does end up playing here and the Viks have a decent season, I'll order up a big 'ole plate of crow although I'll still be bitter over the training camp thing. On the flip side, if the Viks end up bombing again, you can be damn sure I'll be the first guy to say "hate to say I told you so - ALRIGHT!" Just like the dude from The Hives.
pwnedPoor Minny. Someone buy this guy a douche because he's obviously a woman masquerading in a QB's body.
pwnedYou know your team is desperate when you sign 90 year old Brett Favre.
Hey, I hear that Vinny Testeverde is available!
semi-pwnedBoo to this. I'll cheer for him because he's a Viking now and I have been a Vikings fan since I was a kid, but I wish he would have just stayed retired.
pwnedThis made the upcoming NFL season about 10x more interesting. I've grown to dislike Favre, so I'll relish another opportunity to watch him crash and burn.
pwnedClarrett is a shining example of how to ruin an amazing NFL career before it ever gets started. Favre is a shining example of how to erase an amazing NFL career.
pwnedMaybe the arm will fall off.
apparently pwned, but there's still a few games leftI wouldn't even pay favre half of 12 million. He's going to sputter midway through the season.

happily pwnedI'll continue to watch the Vikes every week, and more than likely continue to be disappointed.
pwnedI have been a Vikings fan for years, but this is like signing the antichrist to run your church. Desperation is not fun to watch.
pwnedHe needed to come back to pad his INT numbers until they out of reach
/oh
Royally pwnedsrsly
All these people saying he's a better qb than the other 2 on the team seem to have forgotten last season. The problem with signing an old qb who still thinks he's got it is that he will still try to force the ball into triple coverage. 10 years ago he would have made a fantastic completion that awed everyone. Now? INT.
And it will only get worse as the season goes on.
Playing a mediocre qb who knows they're mediocre is a much better option than playing this asshole, who will single handedly lose several games for them and destroy their playoff ambitions. At least a mediocre but humble qb will take care of the ball and not take insane risks like Farve.
Anyone saying 'I told you so' can pull your heads out...you can't possibly say you saw this coming, in particular 9-1 and possibly the best year of his career.
Actually it's not surprising at all. His last year with the Packers was a pretty damn good year. 1 TD away from the Super Bowl.
