Are there any fax to email Hardware solutions for home? I am looking to just plug the device into the phone line (RJ11) and into a ethernet connection. That way, it will receive the fax and send it to a email address automatically. I searched, and found the following:

https://www.ringdale.com/fax/

It is expensive though ($495), so looking for something cheaper that is hardware based. I know there are places I can sign up (cloud based), but I am interested in something local that doesn't require the computer to be turned on or a fax machine and works with the existing phone line.

There are fax to email services out there. I think they are pretty cheap as well. Like 10-15\month.

I know...but I would like to use my existing landline at home without signing up for a cloud service.

I have to ask why? You are talking about spending 500 dollars on a device that will provide less reliability than a cloud service. You can run that cloud service for years before it costs more than a single device.

Well, you can attach a computer to a fax modem, install software, and have that work.

Alternatively, you can get something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Sharp-UX-B800SE-Broadband-Fax-Machine/dp/B000H6QTYI

I had one of these several years ago - ended up ditching it because we got rid of the landline, but I also paid like $30 for it. Shop around.

Never needed to put ink in it - it would forward incoming faxes to our email, we could use it for outgoing faxes, and we could use it to scan-to-email. I assume other (newer) models have similar features. The only shortcoming was that to actually fax something, I had to print it out. (Couldn't print-to-fax like fancy services can.) But I bet a newer fax machine or AIO would allow that.

Definitely way under $500.

The Sharp machine is interesting....thanks. It looks like it probably has a adapter inside of it that is similar to ringdale link.
