FC-PGA and PPGA !?!?!

I think I am confused, or not....please tell me if I am right or wrong.

PPGA's are the older Celerons running on a .25 core ?!?!

FC-PGA's are the newer Celerons running on a .18 core ?!?!

There are also Pentium3 cpus in a FC-PGA form ?!?!?

The 566mhz Celeron cpu which is "easy" clockable to 850mhz is one of the new celerons on a .18 core just as the Pentium3 cpus !?!?! and the main difference from a Pentium3 cpu is that it has 128k cache instead of 256k ?!?!?

Also the PentiumIII is 8 way associative versus the 4 way for the celery, giving it a bit more muscle.

Sometimes I see stores sell Celerons with an A behind the name !

What does that mean ? that its one of the new Celerons ?!?!

I just wanna be sure I specify the name correctly if I buy one of those new celerys at 566mhz capable of 850......

533 celeron = .25
533a celeron = .18

otherwise the A means nothing.

The "A" typically denotes the newer chip. When they added cache to the old celery, they added an "A" on the end so you could tell the difference between the two chips with the same speed.

That's correct Frenchie. intel only adds suffixes to their processor names when there are 2 different types at the same clock speed(E, B, A)

You just say Celeron 566, there's only 1 version. There's no such thing as a CeleronA 566 or a Celeron 566A, at least not according to intel. Some vendors might label it that way just to be smartasses, but then again, some vendors have stuff like the K6-3+ MMX or other more ludricrous products too.

0.18 FCPGA version is the only version exist

Goi and xtreme2k are correct. There is only one version of the 566,and that is the celeron2....therefore there is no need for the "A".

The 533Mhz is the only Celeron to have both a .25u and a .18u part, isn't this correct?
