Awesome ruling. Advancing the Internet and providing high quality of service for applications that require it. Government getting out of the way of the technological advancement of the Internet. You REALLY don't want the government to control the Internet, that's a terrible idea.

Great day indeed.

yes yes, some 0&1's are more costly then others.

The core problem is that the world is too complicated for legislators to understand and it changes too fast. Judges then have to reconcile laws which are not well suited for the current situation and aren't all that up on things either. I think what we need is a different way of doing things. Joe Congressman and Sally Senator simply do not have the time nor expertise to deal with these issues and partisan agenda always comes in to the equation.

We need a better, more adaptable system which preserves core values but is more competent and versatile. We don't even need to change the Constitution, but shift the burden of crafting legislation to those who have an idea of the subject at hand. The Legislature can then exercise their mandate and pass or not.

This needs to be offloaded from the business as usual mechanisms.

I'm sure the "free market " will work it out.

And that is exactly what is happening. The advancement and future of the Internet are being driven by private companies adapting to customer needs for a much better and enjoyable Internet experience.

You can't stop progress of the Internet, nor is it wise to allow government to do so. It's a TERRIBLE idea to prevent the future of the Internet.

Y'all might want to check your sarcasm meters.

I'm being DEAD serious. This is my business and I have been doing it for over 20 years (closer to 25 now that I think about it). Thankfully the intelligent people are briefing the FCC and helping them make the proper decisions rather than the folks clammering over this with no fucking clue how the Internet works.

You know the next best thing to following all the issues with this and investigating all the claims to form an educated opinion? Find an interested, self serving, dedicated idiot and vote /work against him. Thank you for your service.

Should we, say, grant regulatory authority to government agencies that can make rules based on legislation?

Legislation made by people who haven't a good understanding of the subject matter? We have that now and it's not good enough.

I'm not even sure what you're asking about anymore. Our current system of regulation does exactly what you said you wanted.
