Checking my friends system; Win 98SE, asus mb fujitsu HD 8Gig
used FDisk and found that he actually had a 20 Gig drive.
Can we use FDisk to create an extended partition WITHOUT destroying existing data.
Thank you (in advance)
I believe that if you are only creating a new partition in the unpartitioned space, you will be able to do so without losing any data on the existing partition. Just be sure not to touch the current partition.
In either case, it'll be a good idea to back up the existing data on your partitions in case something happens while you're working with the partitions.
Boot in Win command prompt, fdisk and create a dos extended partition. Then create a logical partition into the extended, and restart.
Load win, will find the new partition, format and wll be GO!
