I bought FEAR Extraction Point when it first came out and I must say it was a disappointing expansion pack. I should've seen it coming since Monolith wasn't involved in creating it and they are strong in plots.
There are some cool new weapons (that's hard to find ammo for so you don't use it that much) and neat environments to fight in but combat and AI are pretty much the same. Overall the game is pretty short and leaves a slight bad taste in the mouths of FEAR franchise fans.
SPOILER ALERT: Basically, they just kill off all the characters from the original game in the first few minutes (perhaps they didn't want to deal with story development and just focus on the FPS aspect) and the rest of the game you are trying to escape.
/sorta agree
The expansion pack had it's good and bad moments - and the ending left me saying "what? that's it?" The ending felt imcomplete...
A lot of games nowadays... I'm sure we can account for getting used to feeling that way way... lol
graphics and game speeds are becoming more intense. the problem about this is that companies are spending more time trying to keep their bottlenecks of bugs and performance gains all into one whole atmosphere.
one of the reasons why we see most game developers not keeping up with the phenomenal quality of the Super Nintendo and Playstation 1 era is for that reason.
change is constant, and not everyone is ready for it. never played XP and probably never will.
voice acting was "way" better in the longest journey 1 than it was in Dreamfall, honestly.
