Are you kidding? The drama is WHY the show works. It's not just a zombie show, it's a world where people are more feared than zombies. In my book, that twist is a lot more interesting.

It's a drama show, which there's many of, that happens to have zombies in it. There's nothing wrong with liking it but I didn't find it different enough than the many other drama show out there.

Why are they calling it a miniseries? I thought 2 seasons were already ordered.

I really don't know why they don't go with 90-minute episodes for EVERY episode of TWD, like they did with the finale. I thought we had an hour left and there was only 15 minutes left!! I mean, they had like 15 million people tune in for the last episode, so it's not like they're hurting for a budget to make it happen...

I think it makes far more sense to call a six-episode season a miniseries, and perhaps through this approach, both the limited episode count and advertising it as a miniseries, this could perhaps be intended to entice more viewers. A way to help them ensure that the second season they ordered is justified.

But it could also be very much like The Walking Dead. The first "season" was almost entirely different from the rest of the show. It was focused on the initial discovery, and then things proceeded from there. Perhaps they'll start with the initial moment, and then season 2 takes a slightly different tune. Season 2 better be longer, I'm annoyed that I'll have to watch only 6 episodes and then be left hungry for more.

I thought that the creator didn't want to go into any of the origin stories of the virus?

Anyways, I'd watch it. I feel like the gap between seasons in TWD is waay to long and I forget the story by the time of the next season.

I guess he didn't want to on official record in the TWD comic series, but appears to be okay turning the early events into a TV-only story.

Notice, however, the actual origin need not be revealed in the spin-off; this is just what happens at the very beginning, they may never reveal the how and why it actually happened.

Never, not for a TV show with a second season. If it was a 6-episode miniseries and was never going to be anything more, sure, it could do that.

But no drama means it won't be successful in a second season, even if the first season did well.

There will be drama: families separated and/or broken apart due to the "new virus", loved ones worried about, trying to escape illness and/or escape quarantines/cordons.

I stopped watching it after mid season break the last season, not because of the drama because of the stupidity of those guys.

Why are they walking? Pickup a bicycle, attach a trailer to it put the baby at the back.

Why fashion bags? get a real backpack, those 100L camping one.

Worry about zombies? Travel north, zombie freezes.

Yeah, I thought it was dumb, I liked the first teaser better...gave a little back story (flu outbreak or whatever), had a little scary part (zombie dude in the alley). This one was almost artsy...so it's some dude running away from...nothing. Looking scared. I understand what they were trying to do, but it didn't work for me

I don't think it is an unrealistic reaction to seeing an actual zombie for the first time and probably not really even knowing what it is.
